I am going to apologize in advance because I know these have all been answered but I cannot seem to get the search function to work properly.

Last year I tried vaping. I got a Blu, liked the first couple hits but that was it. Did a lot more research and bought a 510 carto kit. Liked it, but did not like all the work I had to do for just one day. Went back to analogs until about a week ago.

I decided to quit analogs. I went cold turkey for the first couple of days but started craving bad. I just recieved the Ego Tank kit.

Now, I have noticed irritation in the throat, and have been drinking a lot of water. I just placed an order for multiple sample bottles of various nicotine levels, all PG base, 50/50, all VG base etc... Is there any thing else that can be done to try and stop the irritation?

And as for the flavorings, just curious as to how long it usually takes for you to really notice the flavors of each juice. I have tried the Marb tanks, filled an empty with RY4, Vanilla, and Black Tea, but notice really no taste difference at all.

Drinking fluids does help. The other thing would be the higher the nic level of the ejuice and the rare possibiliity that you're allergic to PG. As far as flavor goes - I get better flavor from tanks than anything else since there's no filler - perhaps you're not getting good wicking - checking and eGo-t thread in technical forums - atomizers might help. Sometimes the wick gets shoved too far down the spike or needs to be deeper and you may need to clean the atomizer - I do a 20minute 151 vodka soak - a dry burn if needed followed by another vodka soak.

Don't inhale directly. Drag slowly into your mouth, then inhale.
And get juices with some VG - my favorite is 70pg/30vg. I don't know how higher VG than that will work in the tanks.

And how much are you vaping? If you are vaping a lot more than you smoked, consider cutting your nicotine. The nicotine is the skin irritant.

Well for right now all of the juice has the same taste, but I suppose thats what analogs will do to you. I have also read about this issue before making the purchase, and have seen that you can purchase double flavored juices, or make your own custom juices. I intend to look up on to make my own. One concern though would be which is cheaper? Making your own, or just buying the nic juice?

I had problems with my tank system. Mine never delivered much taste.....the draw is really tight, and the atomizer is so far away in that design that by the time it gets to my mouth through those tiny whistle tip holes it's just cool and kind of blah, plus I've never gotten mine to wick just right.

That being said...

If you like the way the tank is working...but just want more flavor, you might:
A. Try an LR Tank atty. Cignot has some for $11 I think.

B. See if your juice provider can mix some with stronger flavors for you. Some can and will do this for you, while others won't. It never hurts to try right?

Next...
Since you already have a suppy of your own juices...
Try a pack of inexpensive disposable 510 cartomizers just to see how you like that as compared the tank system. The most basic generic ones can be found for as little as $5 a five pack if you search around.

Cartomizers have the atty and cartridge or tank built together into one piece that you just toss out when it dies or no longer performs to your satisfaction.

There are mega jumbo cartomizers designed especially for the ego.

There are also standard 510 variants at regular and low resistance that will work fine on that battery. (lower resistance means hotter burning)

And even CE2 wicked/tank systems like the Clearomizer.

From there, you have all sorts of options...from separate carts and attys to different variants of all in one disposable cartos.

Many people just get a 510 atty and a drip tip and just keep the coil itself wet with a few drops at a time right out of the bottle.

On LR vs Regular attys and cartos...
If you want hotter hits, or short puffs...LR might be for you.
If you just want a light long pull, the regular attys should be fine.
Maybe try some of both...not to expensive these days :)

My experience with the eGo T was every draw had to be 6 to 8 seconds to produce anything at all...and the timer on the atty didn't even burn through the whole draw (the timer cuts it off). Guess I just had bad luck and kept it flooded, or ain't doing it right.

Making your own (DIY) is cheaper but you might want to find out what flavors you like first with premixed. Get samplers - many vendors have them - here's one:

6ML Nhale/Xhale Liquid Samplers - 24MG
Nhaler 10Mg Strength Octane HV Samplers 6Ml
HIGH VOLTAGE SAMPLERS 12Mg 6ml Plastic Dropper Bottles

Fair price for 6ml and you get a bottle you can use as a 'carry' bottle later.

If you want to try your hand at mixing:
Platinum Ice E.Liquid Mixing Kit.

The nic juice is 54mg - only for mixing and careful with it, esp. around kids and pets. Scroll down to the video and further for a chart that makes it rather easy. I use this exclusively in VG nic base, Aqueous Glycerine (VG) and the Decadent Vapour flavors are great - not just one note flavors but already made with various herbs and spices that you'd have to have a lot of knowledge to learn how to add some of them on your own - not all are water soluble but are made so by his processing and knowledge of chemistry. My favorite flavors are Habana Reserve, Real Tabs, ylang ylang, black currant and they tend not to be sweet or overly sweet like some.

ml per ml DIY is cheaper but, the first couple batches won't be because you have to buy measuring equipment and bottles. Be careful with the nic.

Thank you all for these answers. I do not plan on mixing anytime soon. But I would eventually like to as a hobby.
Kent, thank you for that suggestion, I bookmarked all of those for later use as I discover my go to flavors. I have read some of the threads on the diluting of nicotine with a vg/ps base, and have looked at some charts and it seems like it would be a nice hobby to take up.

Credo, I will have to try the 510 atty, I have a few of them already. Next purchase I make for tanks or attys I will also get a drip tip. And as for the clearomizers, are they compatible with the atty made for the tank? Or would I purchase another atty specifically for that?

Wow thanks so much for those videos and the link. Helped understand the whole process a lot better, and a good idea of exactly what I need when I decide to try it out.

Like badnam says - there's cheaper kits out there but in a year and 9 months I've tried a lot of unflavored nic juice and platinum ice is the only one that doesn't eventually go yellow or pink. I haven't found any better than DV for my taste. You could go cheaper if you got some NOW foods VG and blended it with 20% distilled water then use the platinum ice and the flavoring and whatever measures and bottles you have lying around.
