These are nice-looking flahslights. And this is just one among many designs I've been checking out.

Nebo 5519 Edge 35 Mini Flashlight with Clip: MSP Scope Mounts

These are the kind of designs I would have expected with e-cig housings. You spend 200 bucks for a highend pv and it's still not nearly as attractive as these. I know these are made of plastics, thus cheap, but I can imagine if they're made of stainless steel. $50 at most.

Not trying to denigrate folks who buy expensive, shiny mods. It's their money. And I don't blame them, really, there's not a lot of choices out there. This is more about a plea for e-cig makers. Like if you decide to get involved in that business, do the right thing. That's all I'm saying.

mods can delete this if they want. But when are we going to have these types of discussions? Whenever we do, someone shuts them down. Result is nothing is improved. Manufacturers make money, why would they do something different and innovative? Costs are not getting any lower. Demand for quality is muzzled.

Some flashlight kits also cost hundreds of dollars.

I got a very nice 18650 mod for $60.

If you want high tech materials, special protection circuits, ever-cool, variable voltage, LED readout, and a lifetime warranty you are going to pay more.

If you want cheap, you can get that too.

Sent from my easy chair using brainwaves.

I'll get the most expensive PV if it's worth it. So this has nothing to do with cost as the only factor. Don't know why you want to steer it in that direction when when things get improved you're one of the beneficiaries.

I'd say you really don't have a clue what it takes to start and maintain a company from scratch as you have to do in this industry. There are a number of innovative designs in PV's that even come with lifetime warranties and perform near flawlessly. One example is the 5 volt GLV2. I know there are a number of other ones as well.

I agree. I was interested in starting an Ecig company- met with with/ spoke to lawyers, Suppliers/ manufacturers, accountant, government reps, tool and die maker, electronics supplier and many, many more people. Spent a few dollars which I don't regret. The energy needed, as I saw it, to start up a PV biz was unbelievable and all the $$ in the world would help but not make it much easier. I now have a new found respect for the vendors knowing the hoops they have to jump through on a daily basis.

P.S. I was going to order a GLV but they were out of stock :(

If I were to come into that mindset where I constanlty expect flaw on such a simple device, then I can understand where you're coming from. I'm sorry, this is the touch screen age. People get involved in the e-cig business because there's not much competition out there. Customers will buy it at any price. They make tons of money. Nothing wrong with it. But if you're telling me that's the best they can come up with at that price after a couple of years in the business...... We'll just leave it at that.

I'm all for innovation and there has been some significant innovation since 2009 when I started vaping. Since you have been around here for all of "a month" you obviously don't have an appreciation for how far this industry has come in three years. Especially considering it is "individuals" with little capital and a very negative political enviornment to work in.

I cannot tell you which company I"m going to talk about in this next paragraph, because I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement. But they asked me to be a temporay consultant in developing a personal vaporizer. This is a huge multinational company making a couple of billion a year. Everyone would recognize their products in stores and it is not a tobacco company. After three personal meetings they ask me to come to their local headquarters and I gave about an hour presentation to 18 of their engineers. And yes, I did get paid.

About two months after that meeting I had heard nothing more about it, so I called the Project Manager just to see how it was going. He told me the company decided not to get into the business and hinted that the political enviornment towards vaping in the US was too negative and too risky.

So, I will repeat what I stated before, you have no clue what you are talking about and what is involved in starting, designing, engineering and maintaining a company to manufacture high-end PV's. Comparing it to a company that makes flashlights by the millions is unrealistic.

Wow, too bad you couldn't get them on-board. A company with some size and money could put out some killer products. I hope our stupid government comes to it's senses some day.

One of the main products they make, sold around the world and everyone would recognize, is the top of the line in that field. They do produce quality products.
