Just started vaping, need help!!

Hey guys, this is my first ever post, and I'm asking for help already :p so, this is the story.
I just started vaping today when my Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 kit (along with an added iClear 30) got delivered, as well as my Aspire Nautilus, a wide-bore drip tip and a few cheap bottles of Hangsen Liquid from fasttech, just to get me started. I already have a few questions, because I feel like I am doing something (or maybe several things) wrong to start with. Maybe its just the learning curve, or maybe I'm just being stupid
Question 1) Pretty simple, can anyone point me in the right direction for some juices I should buy? I've been looking at some pretty expensive ones, that have all been recommended to me by a pretty close friend. However, he vapes on a big bad mechanical mod and RDA's, so I'm not really sure I should be looking into splashing out on that sort of cash already for juices, incase I might not like the same flavours that he does.

Question 2) Relating to question 1, The juices I ordered with my initial vape purchase, were a Peach Flavour in 12mg, and a RY4 flavour in 18mg. Now I wasnt a heavy smoker by any means, so these seem to be a lot more than I feel like I should actually be vaping. I only used to smoke a few analogs a day at most, so maybe I should try a 6mg? Whats your guys opinions? Also, if someone can link me a good site that they think will provide the right juice to answer these two questions, I would be eternally grateful :D

Question 3) THIS IS THE BIG ONE: So today, I first tried my Aspire Nautilus tank on my MVP, and got nothing but burnt hits. I also didnt like the juice that I put in with it. Someone told me that maybe it was the coil heads that they were shipped with, and told me that I should try swapping the pre-installed 1.6ohm coil with the 1.8ohm coil that comes in the box. Now, I'm not a weak guy, but I have done literally EVERYTHING I can think of to try and screw my coil head out. I've looked at youtube videos for it and seen how easy other peoples aspire's are for taking the coils out and replacing them, but no matter what I try, I CAN NOT seem to take my coil out. It's as if it has jammed inside it :( I really want to try and sort this out, because the coils that are in it right now just don;t seem to be working, and I'm continuously getting dry/burnt hits, no matter how much I try changing my Volts/Watts and change the amount of airflow my Nautilus is adjusted to. Can anyone help me with this?

I have used my fathers ego-c twist with (I think) a Kangar Aerotank on it, and its so simple and easy to use, and I havent noticed any problems with it for the few small toots I've had on it over the past few weeks. I really want to get this sorted out, because I don't want to give up on vaping already when I've only just started my journey.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, and I wish everyone all the best in the future.
Vape on! :vapor:

Hi and Welcome to ECF :) COngrats on getting started (and doing it well with the MVP!)

1) Im sure some of the folks on your side of the pond will pop in with some vendor information - but a good initial move is to order the smallest sample bottles they have or inexpensive "sample packs" with a handful of flavors. Find out what you enjoy and reorder. You can even do the same with some of the more pricey vendors - always best to get an inexpensive small tester before you drop real money on the big bottles :)

2) Honestly the nicotine thing boils down to what you prefer. Try the 12 and the 18 for a bit and see if you feel satisfied, deprived or if you get a little nic buzz. Judging on how you get on with those you can determine if one of the 2 are right or if you should go down to 6.

3) For the nautilus - you just take the tank assembly off of the base and grab the smaller diameter steel tube in the center and unscrew it. It shouldnt be so tight that you just cant get it off - if it is try a rubber jar opener, or plastic wrap and some needle nose pliers to get a better grip. Its just screwed in.

Did you prime the atomizer before engaging the battery? If not, try taking a few sharp pulls (without pressing the button) to get the juice flowing to the coils.

Yeah, It's VERY tight, to the point where you could mistake it for being stuck in there. I'll have to try with some small pliers over the weekend when I have access to my trusty little toolbox again :p

Yep, tried all of the tips and help I've seen posted on all other forums and YouTube etc. and it just doesnt seem to want to work properly. I'm using the same juice that my Dad uses on his (bearing in mind we're both running completely different setups) and mine is just disappointing :( However, the iClear 30 that came with the MVP seems to be doing a much better job than the Nautilus Aspire, which has surprised me quite a bit seeming as I was expecting it to be the other way round. I'm sure I'll get to the bottom of this eventually. Never give up :p

To add to what CreepyLady said, you may want to try some different levels to see what works for you. I smoked almost a pack a day, but now I vape on 5mg/ml juice. If you can locate a B&M shop around you, many of them have unflavored juice in different nic levels that you can try, in order to pinpoint your preferred level. It's hard to generalize about each person's perfect vape, since we're all different. Also, taste buds only live 2 weeks, so what you don't like now, you may grow to like into the future. Good luck with the tank issue, and vape on!

I'm almost sure I have access to at least 2 (maybe 3 or 4) B&M shops within a very small area of where I live. I'll have to pop in sometime within the next few days. And, if I do find something I like, it'll also mean I'll be helping out local businesses as well :p
Thank you for your reply

I would suggest you find a local vendor. They specialize in vaping so they have a large selection of flavor and offer great prices. a 20 dollar 30ml bottle lasts a solid 2 weeks if your a casual vaper and more importantly.. they have a wide variety of nicotine strengths, including 3mg versions of all their flavors. which most places dont offer and tends to be the best way to go, imo.

Welcome to the forum.

What you're using to vape is exactly the set-up I have. MVP 2.0 & Aspire Nautilus. They had some problems with a "Run" of coils on the Nautilus that reflect what you are experiencing. But make sure when you fill up, to prime the coil with a drop or two of juice, do a couple of light "Dry" prime puffs and then let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes to make sure the wick has saturated.

1) I purchase all my e-juice from Mt Baker Vapor here in the US. They have over 150 flavors ... just about ANYTHING you can imagine including fruity flavors ... AND, they DO SHIP TO THE UK!! Also the Price for e-juice is the lowest I've found on the internet, plus when you spend $15 USD or more excluding the shipping or discounts, they will send you a FREE 15ml e-juice of your choice ... just tell them what you want in the comments box when you order. And speaking of discounts, if you use the coupon code: vaporfrombaker you will get an additional 10% discount on your order.

A good starting point is to look at what you think you would like and then read the customer reviews. I've done it that way and have ordered maybe 45 flavors and only found 1 or 2 that I didn't really like ... but are still vapable.

2) Since you didn't smoke a lot of analogs, what you could do is buy your juice @ 6mg then you can buy unflavored nicotine any pg/vg % and any Nicotine mg up to 36mg from Mount Baker Vapor dirt cheap. With the same PG/VG % as your juice you might want to get a 30ml of maybe 24mg unflavored and then just put a drop or two, (or more) to your tank when you fill up and that way you can adjust the nicotine level till you find your sweet spot anywhere from 6mg up to 20mg without having to waste a bunch of juice.

3) I would go with the above ... just use a pair of needle nose pliers, should work well

Good Luck and keep vaping

oh, and btw, the mvp vapes anything from .8ohms to 3.0ohms and at 10 watts you can't go wrong. I stick to single coil builds around 1.8-2.0ohms.

Just cranked it up to 10 watts from 8 watts and it seems to be working MUCH better. Gonna pop down my local B&M tomorrow and check out what they offer and see if they can point me in the right direction. Thanks a bunch! :D :toast:

This was exactly what I was looking for :D
I've checked out the Mount Baker Vapor site before all my setup arrived because I see a LOT of people stick by them in forums and such, but a lot of the UK forums tend to stay away from it because they're too cheap to pay the extra fee for shipping costs and such  But for the low prices they have, and the great reviews/flavour options, I'll definitely have to take a look into their range. I was very interested in their GWAR range, some of them look and sound disgusting/amazing all at the same time! :p
We have something sort of similar over here in the UK, where they sell liquid with names such as 'monkey ....', 'Spotted .... and Custard' and 'Zombie Plus'

My dad has some Monkey .... on order as we speak (however wrong that sounds), so I may just have to steal some from him when it arrives. Plus, it'd be great to see peoples reactions when they ask what you're vaping and you tell them 'Monkey ....'
