Hello all, after having passing thoughts of trying an ecig, my wife and I were at a local mall and purchased a smoke 51 duo, I kinda knew the history of some of the overpriced mall vendors, but the wife was with and after trying it at the kiosk, decided what the hell. both of us have been using our 51's for just about 2 weeks now. and are both very happy with vapor, and battery life of them, but I do have a few questions.

1, the replacement carts do not seem to be completely filled, I can tell this as after going through 5 carts so far, only one has been absolutely fantastic, definately got two packs worth out of that one, but the other 4 only seemed to be 1 pack worth. can these carts be refilled? or topped off as I would like to try some ejuice.

2, with all of the different brands, model numbers. does anyone know what the 51 duo is compatable with? I would like to get a few spare batteries and another charger.

3, what mods if any can I do to the 51duo?

thanks.

smoke 51 is not the same as a KR808d-1. It is a E9/.V9. Lecig sells the e9/v9 as a KR808d-2 but I think that confuses ppl. (they do have good prices, tho)

Cartomizers can be refilled at least a few times. The last time I looked at smoke51 cartomizers, they had a white silicon plug (the part with the airhole) in the mouthpiece top. This can be pryed out quite easily using a (large size) one-leg-bent-out paperclip rotating around inside the airhole and prying gently up. There will likely be silicon residue visible on the sidewall of the interior - not much to do about that (pretty sure the tops are poured in place)

You can add drops of eliquid once the top is removed. Do not get liquid into the center well. If you get a 'lake' effect (reflective juice), then you have too much liquid - use a eye dropper to suck out some. (too much liquid will leak out into the battery and kill the battery) Replace mouthpiece.

Strong advice: If your cartomizers came with a clear cover over the mouthpiece or battery side, cut a hole in their tops corresponding to the airhole in the mouthpiece. Slide this over the white silicon plug. This will prevent the white silicon plug from coming off in your mouth or popping off and rolling around on the floor.

Misc. advice: when first filling, note the color of the filler. (in most flavors should be white to an off-white) when you refill, wait a few minutes before you replace the white silicon plug and check the color again. Unless you're using a dark-colored liquid, if the filler turns dark brown to blackish or starts to look dark towards the inside, mottledbrown towards the outside, you've scorched the cartomizer and should discard it. Get into the habit of waiting a few minutes before recapping to check the filler color.

Hope this helps.
