Welcome and congrats to making the switch and getting away from the cigs.

Personally for me, I've lost a couple pounds since taking up vaping. One thing I never did was smoke indoors. However, now I can vape indoors no problem. So I grab my PV when I have an urge to eat something and it helps curb my appetite. Drinking a lot of water helps as well since that is what you should be doing to stay hydrated from vaping.

Hi Corley - Welcome! I wouldn't worry about weight gain. Vaping takes care of a lot of the behavioral issues associated w/ smoking cessation and nicotine is a bit of an appetite suppressant so many people who switch don't gain weight. If it does accidentally happen you can lose weight - you cant fix the health issues related to smoking.

Congrats on your success! You seem to be off to a very good start with your set up and juices.

Hey guys,
I have a friend who got me interested in vaping, and so after a few weeks, I bought one. I bought it last Tuesday,
an e-Go T with a Smoke Tech DCT. I haven't had a cigarette since Friday morning, and I have 5 different kind of juices now. I'm feeling good about it. One thing - should I be worried about weight-gain?
First off, congratulations on kicking the stinkers, and welcome to the forum.

About the weight gain, i have to be honest with you, and (based on my personal experience) say yes. You will likely gain some weight.
i gained about 8 pounds even thoug i workout at the gym 5/7 , but the good news is that you can take those extra pounds off with a little exercise and paying some attention to what you eat (e.g. stay away from mcdonalds).

In the end, the benefits you will gain from quitting the stinkers, FAR outweight any disadvantage like a little weightgain.

Very Good to hear that you haven't had a Cigarette since Friday. The First week can be Rough.

No, Vaping doesn't Cause weight gain. That comes from Over Eating and Not Enough Exercise. LOL.

But seriously. Most people don't gain much weight when they Switch to Vaping. Just remember to Drink a Lot of Water. Vaping can Dry you out.

Hi Corley - welcome to ECF!
All of the above posts are pretty spot on - you're replacing the cigarettes with an alternative, less harmful method of nicotine consumption, so your metabolism likely won't slow down, and because you'll still have the physical action of bringing the PV to your lips, inhaling/exhaling, you probably won't find yourself reaching to snacks (at least not any more than you used to! :) )

As previously mentioned, drink lots of water (will keep you from feeling hungry - and very often people think they are hungry when they are really thirsty, also, vaping can be dehydrating, so drink 8 glasses, and then drink some more!), and if you find yourself craving sweets, try vaping a sweet flavor! ECBlendflavors has a fantastic Thin Mint that really does taste like a girlscout cookie (let it steep for about a week to give the flavors a chance to meld), deejstuff has amazing sweet flavors, and VapeDudes has a great s'mores vape. Buy small samples in the beginning to figure out which flavors you like (taste is really subjective, especially in vaping!), and when you hit on the flavors that satisfy you, order bigger bottles BEFORE you think you need to - running out is not a good thing!

This is a great place for you to find information, ask questions and get support - everyone is very friendly & willing to help!
happy vaping,
Cheeky
