Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone experienced weight gain issues going from smokes to vaping. And when I say weight gain, I don't mean because of over eating after quitting smokes due to the lack of nicotine. I mean consuming the e-liquids. How many calories do those e-liquids have per ml? Has anyone ever looked into this?

Any weight gain (which most report hasn't happened) isn't caused by e-liquid. I had issues with my blood sugar levels when I first switched, but that was a side effect of quitting cigarettes. A change in heart rate (from smoking) can also affect weight.

that explains it,,thought i was just eating a lot more :)

That's what I was wondering about. I'm very strict with my food intake so I'm not worried about gaining weight from over eating. I was just curious about all the things around it. Sounds like I have nothing to worry about.

I haven't been vaping long enough to have first-hand knowledge with this, but a friend of mine, who has been vaping for a little over a year, says she has lost weight.

She told me that the dessert flavored liquids have helped to satisfy her sweet tooth.
Of course, I'm hoping I have the same experience!

I've have actually lost 28lbs since I started vaping
This gives me hope! One of the reasons I put off quitting tobacco cigarettes for so long is the fear of gaining excess weight. Now that I'm in my 40's, I find my metabolism has slowed down.

Do you mostly vape dessert or fruit flavored? Do you think the flavors (as opposed to tobacco flavors) had anything to do with your weight loss?

I wonder if someday, with the advanced techniques in creating liquid combinations, if we'll see 'meal' flavors offered...

~ Spaghetti and Meatballs
~ Cheese Enchiladas
~ Chicken and Dumplings
~ Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
~ Tuna Casserole
~ Bologna Sandwich
~ Liver and Onions

It may sound far-fetched, but many vendors already offer such things as French Toast w/ Maple Syrup. If we could get the flavor without all the calories and fat, vaping could turn into a great way to lose weight, as well as quit smoking!
Who knows what the future of vaping may hold? :p

I vape kickin mints - some fruits and flav tobaccos. Hot Cinnamon kicks a craving for sweets for me - in a heart beat. I've been at this for 5 months now and my weight loss is ongoing and has been huge. I don't do the lbs thing - I go by inches and I'm only officially measuring every 6 months - I'm about a month away from my first measure of success - so by the time I hit a year..... You can't miss the progress tho - nothing really fits from my closet and can't tell you the last time I wore a MEDIUM anything from the waist down..I was floored with happiness! Had to break down and get a few things to keep from looking sloppy. I just gotta deal with it for the most part - not investing a lot of $$ in clothes until I'm nearer to where I wanna be - so I just swim around in stuff here at home :D I vape at 20-24mg. Good news is - at the beginning of the year I'm going to open an Ebay store to try and sell of all my clothes - which then turns into a shopping spree for new stuff when I hit goal!! For me - it's been about positive mind set and all the confidence that came my way since I was able to quit smoking - I let all of the stuff that was bad for me go by the wayside. I drink alot of water and exercise - the most constant thing - long walks and beginner yoga. Trust me on the beginner part - anyone that thinks yoga is easy - has never done yoga..lol. Congrats again to everybody in this thread!!
