Just starting out... any tips or hints?

I've been reviewing this site for the past week, looking around and trying to find out all the info I can for e-cigs. I'm a newbie, but I fell I made a good decision buying a Joye 510 kit, 5 Joye 510 Blank Cartridges, 1 bottle of Double Mint Liquid [ Strength:24mg X High], and 1 bottle of Hilton Reserve Liquid [ Strength:36mg XX High] at litecig.com from Shawn. All I've heard is great things about his site and am looking forward to recieving my kit from him!

I just have a couple of questions once my kit arrives. Is there anything I should first start out doing, as in the best to break in my atomizer or anything else that I should be doing?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers! :)

I also purchased the Joye 510 kit about 2 weeks ago. The 510 works great! I'm glad I found this forum before I went out and purchased one without all the info I received here. When you receive your kit, your should be all ready to go right way. Both of my batteries where almost charged to the max from the manufacture. However, I charged one anyways while I played with the other one. (kit w/2 batteries, and atomizer) I tried the carts that came with the juice 1st, then I tried dripping. I didn't really do much to prime the atomizer. I just started sucking! I did notice a couple bad hits, but at that time, I didn't know any better because I was so new to e-cigs. I wasn't bad. I did hear that once your battery is charged, take it off the charger, don't leave it on the charger for long period of times. It only takes about 30min to 1 hour to charge. I have never had one go totally dead on me.

I am really big on the Lipton "Pyramid" Tea Bag for refilling my carts with my juice! I have found that it seems like a "cleaner hit". Plus, just keep all your carts after they're spent, and re-pack them with the tea bags. Only $1.99 for a box of 20 and you should be able to use 1 bag for 2 carts. I went to the store with the "red bulls-eye" for a logo. Easy to find! I hope this helps you!

I wouldn't recommend cleaning it right off the bat.... To get the primer off, I blow, and then attach the atty to a manual bat, and hold while puffing (only into the mouth) then immediately blowing out. About 8 or so good puffs and you'll see the vapor diminish. Drop a couple onto the bridge; best way I recommend to avoid flooding is get a drop at the tip of your dropper and touch it to the bridge, and wait for it to soak in; and repeat. After a couple rounds of vape till dry and drip/vape till dry, and you should have all the primer gone.

Thanks everyone for helping. That was the one thing I wasn't sure about with the attys and the primer. I've heard that it can taste pretty bad when you first use it. Is there a certain way to get the primer off, though?

If you blow out the atty you should get most of the primer out. Just blow on the connecter end.

In_fidel, you may find the juices you got are too strong for you, and you may need to cut them. I would get some VG for this. I get mine at Whole Foods, heritage brand. 24 mg is too high for me, but you may be ok with it.

Consider also getting a PCC charging case for charging batts on the go, and a USB passthough, for vaping on the computer.

Welcome, and happy vaping! You picked a good one for your first PV!
