Am i the only one that thought this thread sounded dirty. Just the tip....

I thought it was going to be "My REO fell 37 stories into a rock canyon and after the helicopter rescue the only thing broke was the drip tip" :D Silly me ........ Oh, and shorty all the way for me. I've seen some sweet brass DTs on a site recently gonna have to get a few for my woodvils.

Wobbly tips.... Ok so I'm on the hunt for the best drip tips for my reo collection but keep encountering the slight wobbly tip problem. I've not bought any high end tips as posted above. Is there a trick to get that snug tip or will theses higher end tips fit snugly?

I have used both cheapie tips and Stainless ones. What I noticed is that the cheapie ones do not fit as snugly in the RM2 as the stainless. I ended up throwing away a cheapie the other day. It just kept getting looser and looser. Changing the o-ring in it did not help either. I think that the tolerance on the cheapies is just not as good.

I have tips that are on the expensive side. Not many but some. I have tried lots of different priced tips on the RM2's. Some wobble, some don't. It does not seem to make a difference if they are cheaper or more expensive.

The RM2's seem to vary in sizing. A tip might fit on one but not the others.

For my part I've noticed it has a lot to do with the top cap. I have two RM2s and the top caps are slightly different. One has a rounded top with less of a bevel and the other has a very flat top with a distinct bevel. The cap with the distinct bevel holds drip tips very firmly while the other holds them a little looser (and wobblyererer).
