I enjoy the occasional snus, but since it's not exactly discrete in my mouth, I'd been wanting to try some dissolvables. Someone on here mentioned Lil Brown Smoke Shack as a good vendor so that's where I ordered (I hadn't been able to find the products locally).

They arrived today and I just tried one. I think I like these things! I got the Ariva java flavor, thinking that would go best with my frequent drinking of coffee and vaping of vanilla e-liquid. The flavor of the Ariva isn't bad, but the artificial sweetness is a bit overpowering at first. The only thing I didn't like is how it gave my throat a weird coated feeling. If you've ever used a Nicorette lozenge, they kind of do that too. I'm wondering now if that's from the artificial sweetener.

The Ariva didn't give me any kind of nic kick, which is fine. I'd deliberately chosen these over higher mg Stonewalls because I'm not on a quest to feel nicotine. At this point, I'm just looking to maintain — feed my need as minimally as possible. And I think the Ariva was perfect in that regard.

So I think I've found what I've been looking for in Ariva. Snus are much nicer in my opinion, but for times when I'm out in public and need something discrete and can't whip out my ecig, I think this will do the job for me.

Oh, is mouth placement much of a factor in the nic absorption? I've seen people say that you should park these things in your cheek, but I just went ahead and sucked it like a mint. It dissolved in about 10 minutes, I guess. I did shove it up to my gums when I was sipping some coffee, though.

I always meant to try dissolvables but have been so contented with snus that I haven't gotten around to it. I'll make an educated guess and say that sucking on it like a mint is not the best way to get the most out if them. Like snus, the nicotine in dissolvables is made to be absorbed via the mucus membrane. By sucking on it you're just swallowing most of the nicotine. That's likely not a good way to get the most out of them and may be why you're having some throat problems.

Stonewalls and arivas make me cough! I love them, don't get me wrong, but I get a non productive cough when I use them that can be quite annoying. I 'park them' and half a stonewall can last me nearly an hour. I just move it around every ten minutes or so to get rid of the 'slime' that builds up as it dissolves. I really enjoy the flavor and effects, but may have to quit using them because for whatever reason, they irritate my throat.

If you're not buying Ariva for the different flavors that are not available in Stonewall, then it's sort of a ripoff. Similar with General Snus and General Minis, they cost the same but you get half as much!! I can't support that pricing scheme with my "voting" dollars.

I know at LilBrown the Stonewalls cost a little more than Ariva, but they're both the same price here: (where Arivas cost a bit more, and Stonewalls a bit less than at LB)
GenuineTobacco - Smokeless Tobacco

Even more disparate situation here: Ariva 50ct.=$9.99 StoneWall 100ct. =$12.49 (+ free shipping on Ariva and Stonewall, & there's a 5% coupon code floating around too)
OrderSmokesDirect.com - Smokeless Tobacco

^^^So in the above case, you get twice as many units, and each of those units has twice as much product. FOUR TIMES as much dissolvable tobacco for $2.50 more, that's just insane! You'd have to spend $40 on Ariva to get the same amount of product than the $12.49 Stonewalls.

So if it were me, and I didn't want the Stonewall kick, I'd just be cutting 'em in half and saving $$$ while voting with your dollars.

(edit): I'm sorta partial to holding them in the middle of my tongue with it pressed up against the roof of my mouth and moving it as little as possible, but only occasionally to clear off the "slime" - they can last quite a while that way.

So I just tried cutting a StoneWall in half to see how it worked. It worked well with a pair of decent scissors and a good sharp knife might even work better. Once halved, it doesn't seem to dissolve significantly faster in the mouth.

But this got me to thinking... We all know about TBob vaping snus - but has anybody ever tried dissolving/grinding/pulverizing a Stonewall in PG and/or VG and vaping that? I'm thinking using a carto would be better and safer than using an atomizer, less risk of clogging and ruining the more expensive atomizer, and it just seems the design of a carto might work better anyway. I'm not much of a carto person, I had a bunch I gave away, but I think I still have some blank 510 cartos somewhere - now I just gotta find 'em. :(

Voltaire: The quick answer is yes. I've dissolved Stonewalls in VG and tried to vape it. But Stonewall does not completely dissolve (that's the "slime" some refer to in your mouth). Stonewells left a thick sludge of particulates in the vial of VG. Now, it's impossible for me to tell if the essential nicotine and WTA made the transfer to the liquid, or were part of that sludge. So I stopped experimenting and wasting perfectly good Stonewalls!

Voltaire, I completely agree with you about the pricing; it's crazy. I cut my Stonewalls in half without any ill effects. I buy Ariva for flavors only. Snus is harder to divide; one has to rewrap the half portion (teabags come very handy here, or rather small pieces of a teabg). But again, mini portions come in all kinds of flavors that are not available in regular portions. The low price of snus overall, flavors and convenience are important to me, so I will continue to buy mini portions, But if somebody is on a budget, absolutely buy the strongest (or los) and make your own portions. That's the most economical way.

===========================

June 18 smoked 03 cigs, 37 less than my usual 40 cigs a day 1588 cigarettes not smoked in 46 days by using a Joye 510, Hello 016, Ken's BoxMod Vaporizer (ecig) and 19 bottles of ejuice partially used + Stonewall dissolvable tobacco, $0.28 per cig X 1588 Cigs = $444.64 diverted from cigarettes to Vaporizer (ecig) I have spent over $750.00 on ecigs and supplies so far ( + $200 for a one year supply of Stonewall ) , what? you would rather not hear about "the cost of not smoking"? :p

James: There is no way a Stonewall will have the same negative consequence to your mouth as chewing tobacco. They are very different products. Stonewall, in fact, can be said to be the safest tobacco product you can put in your mouth -- and that includes the smoke of anything.

Its level of carcinogenic TSNAs is the lowest of any product, snus included. I just bought all I could afford last week, in light of the PACT crackdown beginning June 22. Now I must buy as many SnusX buckets as I can afford.

Do you think it would be wiser to order as many snuss buckets, or regular Tins via flat pack?
I ask because there are supposed to be around 480 portions, per bucket.
20 tins in flat packs would be almost as cheap....
I want any opinion on this...please...

There are only 10 cans in a flatpack, which is 240 portions. The problem is that people have been having a hard time getting the snusX. There are out of stock at getsnus and I have heard Northerner is not shipping them from Sweden. Don't know if you'll be able to get them before that which shall not be named kicks in. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but that's the scope.

Wait what? June 22?!? I am mildly stocked up, but thought I had before the end of the month to get one last pre-PACT order in. Guess I'll be ordering today for sure, no more procrastinating for me!
