Congrats! I had much the same experience . . . after a week or two with no cigarettes, I lit one up just to see. Tasted like something crawled into my mouth and died. Simply awful. Tried it again a few days later. Once again, I couldn't even get 1/2 way through it. After 30 years of smoking, I was done.

It's a good feeling. :)

I wouldn't make a plan. I think it will happen naturally--no stress that way. It took me two weeks (three packs) before I tried.

You know, I really think it's great if you never go back to cigarettes again but really? Analogs taste 'gross' and 'disgusting' ?
I would never judge anyone here as being dishonest but to actually believe that every person here who has smoked 10,20,30,40 years and never thought or smoked another analog the day they touched thier pv seems , well, bizarre to say the least. Maybe it's just me, but smoking for 35 yrs and switching over to vaping was a good thing. Having said that, vaping is not smoking, we know that going in. Even long time folks who have quit smoking say the miss it at times. Although I am still new and will be for quite some time, vaping does not take the place imediatly of what smoking did/does. Believe it or not , vaping after a good meal will never replace smoking a good cigarette or cigar, ever.
Are there really any vapers here that are honest to admit that having a cigarette now and then is what the reality really is with vaping ??

And really, good luck with never smoking :D

I haven't been using mine for very (my new one after njoy which did nothing for me), but it's almost the same for me. When I wake up I still want a cig, but after that I will vape all day and if I suddenly decide to smoke a cig or follow someone else outside out of habit it really does taste like crap. That morning cig isn't bad at all though. Feels the same really. I find now that I crave vaping more than smoking. I crave the taste and the different way you take a drag on it. I like the immense amount of vapor that pours out compared to smoke.

I would have said they were making it up too till it happened to me. I'm a very skeptical person. Btw, I've been smoking for 13 years, and cowboy killers at that. It's great not to feel like I'm literally choking on the air when I go outside in the cold weather (anyone know what I'm talking about?). I thought I would be hacking up that old crap for weeks before I felt better, but it really came in after only a few days of vaping.

I will still grab a cig every now and then, but I haven't finished a whole one since about my 3rd day of vaping. Till now... I'm out of liquid ><

Nope, cigarettes really do taste like crap to me now. Of course, that doesn't mean that I still don't crave them from time to time . . . but what I'm craving is my memory of what I thought they tasted like . . . not what they taste like to me now.

When I think back to when I had my first cigarette, my memory is a heck of a lot of coughing and no real enjoyment. It did NOT taste good. Why I persisted, I couldn't even begin to tell you. Stupid 16 year old trying to look cool. Meh. Even as a smoker, though, I never truly enjoyed the aftertaste. I was forever popping breath mints and chewing gum to get the bad taste out of my mouth, a taste that wasn't bad at all while puffing but was pretty yucky after the fact.

I am quite sure, though, that I could once again get quite used to the taste of cigarettes. Fortunately, though, I'm choosing not to go there. ;)

I smoked for over 37 years and haven't had a single cigarette since my first "drag" on my Vapor King. Nobody is more surprised than I am myself! I wouldn't say that I haven't thought of smoking because you can't erase a 37-year habit overnight. I still reach for my invisible pack of cigs and find myself momentarily surprised that they're gone - but the vaping really does serve as an excellent substitute. It also really does taste a lot better. I am re-programming my taste buds, and it's working.

I would disagree that vaping doesn't replace a good cigarette after a meal. For me, it does the trick - but I always use a strong 36mg vape because anything less will make me feel deprived.

I haven't had a cigarette in about 5 months, but I seriously doubt I'd now find them as disgusting as everyone claims.

You might not. I think it's an individual thing. My sister still smokes (although she says she has reduced her intake). She swears that the first cigarette she has after vaping a sweet, fruity liquid tastes like crap. The second cigarette, however, tastes better. If she vapes a heavy shag flavor then has a cigarette, the first few puffs of the cigarette don't taste great (but don't taste terrible), but by the 4th puff, she's good to go.

So maybe it's partially about what taste we have in our mouths when we pick up the cigarette. I know that when I was smoking, I could NOT have a cigarette after drinking a glass of milk or eating ice cream. Beyond nasty taste. Maybe this is much the same thing.

Me, I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth. The first few puffs tasted like crap, and that's good enough for me. I won't force myself to finish the cigarette or have another one to test my hypothesis. ;)

Sorry, can't help you there.

Cigarettes now taste to me like ammonia and formaldehyde wrapped in burning glue paper.
I have absolutely no desire for one and don't miss them in the slightest.

It took me about two weeks to finally stop having that morning cigarette though.
But the more I vaped, the worse they started to taste.

They started tasting horrible to me long before I stopped using them.
The only reason I kept using them was for morning convenience.
And just because they were there.

Well, I guess I"m the oddball because I still love and constantly crave my old cigarettes! My husband still smokes analogs and I find myself taking about 1 or 2 a day and smoking them. I still love the way analogs taste and probably always will. That's why I was addicted to them for the last 25 years.
I'll bet if you went five days without a single analog they would taste like crap.

I have to go with the majority. I smoked for 46 years. After a week of vaping, I simply stopped smoking. A few cravings early on, then nothing! I have tried an analog as a test here and there (way few and far between) and they were nastier than nasty. NEVER thought I would say that OR feel it.
As far as meals, I look FORWARD to vaping after I eat. WAY more than when I smoked. And vaping goes excellent with my coffee, which is a mainstay of my life!!
I sometimes miss the IDEA of smoking, that's all. Vaping has given me a new lease on life, and I am in awe still!

Personally speaking I duplicated the analog cigarette taste early on in my vaping experience. Whenever I accidentally let the atomiser run dry and I get a mouthful of metallic burnt vapour it tastes to me almost exactly like the roll-up cigarettes I was using just before I started vaping.

If someone sold this taste in a bottle would I buy it? Probably not, its just not pleasant any more. I liked, or rather accepted it at the time as there was no alternative.

I still regularly try different tobacco e-liquids to try and find a close match that I also enjoy, but I've come to the conclusion that an exact match would mean a rather unpleasant taste with a lingering unpleasant aftertaste - as time goes on there seems less and less point trying to duplicate it except through some sort of masochistic nostalgia. That's just me though, others may like and want this taste.
