I looked and looked and this seemed to be the only place that was even semi appropriate to post this!

I own an efest Luc4, and i have had nothing but issues with the springs (they jerk and pause at various sections, i have even had batteries fly out of my hand when trying to insert them).

So i am sending it back, and picked up a tiny little nitecore um20 whilst i work out what i will get for my main, um, mains powered charger.

I just wanted to really recommend this little beast! I plug it into my notebook, it even has cable management for the usb cable, and it also has external charging of cell phones (for example). All for 15 australian dollars including ship!
It's small.
There is only one caveat, it doesn't do 26650's. That's the only negative in a sea of positive.

But i wanted to rave about it cause the springs are like butter! Soooooooooooo smooth.. Has charged my vtc5a's. efest metallics, 18650 and 18350s, samsungs and LG's perfectly, and the batteries don't seem to get as hot as in the efest.

For the money, if you need a charger on the go, i highly recommend it!

Cheers

It's a great little charger! Mine died unfortunately :(

money was tight so I ordered this as a temporary replacement $9.93 Authentic BANYOU BY002X Dual-Slot USB Li-ion Battery Charger w/ 1.6" LCD Display - 4.2V ± 1%/5V / 1000mA/500mA at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping turns out I like it a bit better than the UM, it's a bit more compact and fits better in my vape bag with all the same functionality...

I'm saving up for the Xtar Dragon or well trying to rationalize buying it but that little banyou just won't kick the bucket, 6 months constant use charging a minimum of 6 batteries a day and it's still kicking it like day one :X

That is a nice charger.

I plug it into my notebook

You might want to think about getting a powered multi port usb hub that plugs into the wall to plug your charger into.

Why risk an expensive laptop / computer to charge a cheap piece of vaping gear. A failed charger could certainly destroy the computer port or the motherboard.

A powered USB hub is very cheap. Better to lose a cheap USB hub than your laptop should anything go wrong.

Different people have different opinions about this but I have a lot of usb devices I need powered anyway, so I use the hub for a lot of things.

Hi racehorse.. I specifically bought it TO be able to charge batts on the go though.. The macbook usb3 puts out 1000 milliamp, perfect for 500 for each battery. You have concerned me now though, so i will definitely keep this in mind.
But right now, the macbook when home, sits on a coolermaster notebook cooler, with has a 4 port usb hub, and i have it plugged into that. I presume this is an acceptable workaround?

I do have a 5v 2amp usb mains plug, so will get into the habit of using that unless i am in a position i absolutely can't. Anyway, thanks for the food for thought!

I would suggest get an Anker USB hub.... They are awesome! I was running out of room with all my chargers... Kindle, coolfire, mvps, mp3 player.... Yeah messy messy tangley cord mess. :nah: The Anker changed all that. Now all my cords line up in a nice neat row... Much better, and it charges things beautifully. If you look on Amazon you'll find one that works for you. They have ones where certain ports put out 1a and others put out 2a. :thumb:
