Honestly, just working to get to the regular forum, but I'll throw in a little vaping history for anyone that likes reading people's stories.
I've smoked since I was 12 as an idiot kid. A friend stole some of his dad's smokes and we would skateboard around town like we were awesome smoking cigarettes. Of course, I got addicted, smoked way too much at way too early an age, and had an acute asthma attack at the age of 19 when I've never had any issues with asthma all my life. What..... an...... idiot I was. I'm pretty sure I also have that issue where I always need to be doing something with my mouth/hands or I get weirdly anxious.
3-4 years ago, in comes e-cigs!!!! Yay, the saving grace we've all discovered! The first e-cig I got was just a curiosity purchase. I was at my local cig store when I first saw one and the idea that you could smoke electronically blew my mind. The clerk really had no idea what they were, but he was honest and told me he didn't like it and that they didn't really do anything for him... but apparently there's no smoke and no cancer and no tar and all that jazz. Remembering that these cigs were killing me, I forked over the $85 for this white box with no brand name that contained 2 batts, a charger, and 5 cartridges (the store sold more 5 cart packs for $20 a pop, of course). They weren't 510, 801, 901, or any connection of anything really. Just a horrible horrible horrible rip off that I couldn't return.
Luckily, when I get curious, I immediately hit the internet and research the hell out of anything and everything. I found this forum and used some old email address that I've long forgot about to sign up. After reading a ton, I purchased a few 510 manual batt sticks and a nice PCC (personal charging case... those were the RAGE in vaping technology back then). I kept myself stocked up with SR510 (the only resistance back then) atomizers and cheap juice and was good for a year or so and fell off the planet in the vaping community. Randomly, I come back and check out the community and, holy hell, everything has evolved. Madvapes was just starting to become a thing at that time, I think, and I got myself a couple box mods (3.7v, 5v, and VV). I went down the carto path for quite awhile, evolving my buys from regular cartos to dual coils when they came out to ce2s when that happened BACK TO dual coils and stuck with those till about a few months ago. I always knew egos were a big thing and wanted to try a tube mod so I got a Bolt (3.7v, 510, 18500 batt tube) and a couple ego batts. I wanted to try the new tanks to and have been using the DCC tank (1.5ohm) from Madvapes since they came out and have really hit a sweet spot that I think I'm going to stick with for awhile.
I've got backups for my backups as everyone suggests, a bunch of old cartos and atties that I can boil in water and dry in the oven for when I'm flat broke, and large amounts of cheap juice. My next venture is to look into high quality atomizers and get back into dripping. Probably the Ikenvapes LR510 or 306s at ~1.8ohms for my 3.7v vaping. I should probably decide soon and pull the trigger.
I wrote another long diatribe about how I'm not that concerned about the government intrusion into vaping, but when I posted my new thread, apparently ECF forgot that I was already logged in
. No biggie the auto-save function saved the top half of this long spiel so at least that's something. I'm always open to those discussions, though. If anyone is curious why, post questions below and I'll get into the details.
