One vape door closed in my city and in the next month 2 new stores opened. I checked out their Facebook page and found that they carried some juice that I wanted to try. House juice was available in high nic but I was there tooto buy from companies I haven't tried. All the juice they had was 0,3,6mg nic.

Over 2 years ago I switched from smoking to vaping. I started with 24mg and I am currently down to 12mg. I've tried the drippers and sub ohm tanks with low nic. I just prefer to vape higher nic in my rebuildable tanks. All this store carried was sub ohm set ups.

It is very upsetting that a store like this has product that I would buy as a regular customer. Having said that I will never go into the store again because why waste my time. They aren't looking for a vaper like me as a customer. I'll just buy online. But I would buy from a local store like that if they would just realized that vaping isn't just about blowing clouds.

At least the other store had starter kits. But only 2 lines of juice they had in over 6 nic. And those 2 lines only went up to 12 nic. I feel like mouth to lung vapers are being forgot about. And I also feel like someone trying to quit smoking that can't get satisfied from no throat hit cloud machines are being done a disservice. But I guess if you can get people to sub ohm at high wattage then they will go through more juice. More juice more money. I get it.

DL vaping with low nic uses a lot more liquid. Shops survive on juice sales. They can't compete on price for hardware with mail order. Life long vapers will mix most of their liquid at home just the same as most people cook most of the food they eat at home. My DIY costs 8 cents a day. Even if I buy pre mix I dilute the flavoring 75% because there is always too much.

Recently visited my fav B&M for what was probably the last time. Truly unfortunate, owner is a great guy always interested in whatever ancient gear I'm carrying and we have a nice chat while I hang out a bit. I went in for a simple ego beauty ring and a couple 18350s. Guy dug all thru his shop for me but couldn't find either. Went to leave and stopped me saying he had a couple "relics" that he'll never be able to sell and I could have them. He pulled two brand new RTAs and gave them to me. Lemo V1 and a Rocket kayfun Clone.
Like I said, great guy but simply can't afford to stock relics cuz 1 of his customers is hooked on them.

This was my experience a few weeks ago when I was first researching vaping. I was impatient and wanted to check out local shops for a setup.

Other than tobacco stores that just sold some vape gear, or head shops, all the vape only shops here in my area cater to sub-ohming. No liquids over 6, looked at funny if you mention ego style or over ohm style tanks. A few tried to push a few 50+ watt mod boxes on me, but I tried to explain I was just trying to switch from smoking to vaping and was looking for something a little more similar than sub ohm.

I did buy a Subvod TC Mega kit, mainly because it was on sale for 30 bucks and seemed like a quick starter kit to try sub ohming if I wanted, luckily one of the local B&M's was awesome and hooked me up with a 1.5 ohm coil to try in my Subvod for MTL along with an Old (not even in their system anymore) iTaste V2 for 20 bucks. Though even they agreed that the local B&M setup is more geared to sub ohming these days if they are a 'Vape only' smoke shop.

Nothing in vliquids over 6mg is deplorable to MTL vapers, and certainly not aimed at the smoker turning vaper. 24mg had (and still has) its place for those transitioning. Most smokers would prolly not be amenable to buying a subohm starter kit, (so I believe) and with the lack of training given by most brick stores, it could very well be a disaster waiting to happen.

I am truly grateful and happy that I stocked up on Provaris during this last fabulous run of blem at 29$. And I'm also incredibly grateful that my vendor of choice realizes the need for all milligram strengths, and continues to offer everything from zero to 24. (pvliquids.com)

I will not shop in a store that coerces me to buy a red carpet dress, when all I want to wear is pajamas.

I never really thought about the strength being an issue as I am lucky that for someone that was a heavy smoker, I am a lightweight vaper as I never use over 6mg.

I do find it strange that more and more "premium" juice companies are only releasing 0, 3 and 6mg juices. Definately a cloud and dripping focus.

And I bought a bunch of the $29 Provari blems and am glad I did!

I don't find it all that strange, Bre. The markup on vliquids is far better for the store than hardware will ever be. Vliquids remain the constant purchase, whereas hardware changes ..... hour to hour (nearly).

Man, you hit several topics right on the head. I hate local shops just promoting cloud chasers. I sub ohm for the flavor with a Nebox but still like my Protank 3 for the mouth to lung, throat hit and higher nic. Sub @ 6 and mouth hit at 18mg. I buy online totally now. Let the shops come and go. Make our own juices and rebuild coils.

I've been really turned off by B&M stores. It seems every time I walk into one, the people behind the counter have no idea what they are talking about, and/or everyone in there is blowing clouds and you can hardly see across the room. I feel sorry for people new to vaping that haven't used a resource like ECF before exploring what options are available to them. I know there are some good stores out there, but they seem to be far and few between.

I started vaping in 2008 and there were no stores to buy vaping gear and juice. So I am used to buying on the internet and probably will continue that way. The selection and price can't be beat. YMMV

Yes, Pepps, I'm thinking that your experience is pretty much the same all across our (once great) nation. I know that vape meets are this way ... from small local ones, to the big national ones.

I'm also an Internut buyer. I do not care for the stores or what they're "selling".

With ya!

I had no choice but buy my vaping products online. The original B&M we got our ego kits was a hour and some drive into the US and bringing juice over the border when its a mighty grey area for the border guards to begin with. Bringing gear over the border was no problem but the nic juice would sooner or later become a issue that I didn't want to deal with so I sourced my juice in Canada and continued to buy gear in the states. Now with DIY juice I still source my 100mg nic in Canada but get my PG,VG and flavorings all from the US. The couple B&M's I have been in were more of less head shops that have added a couple extra shelves to sell disposable vape gear and some unheard of juice.
