So I decided to give diy ejuice a go. And so far i've had various results with regards to flavour, vapour and throat hit. I am using 50mg PG base and cutting it with plain PG and flavouring. Found sometimes it was a little runny and throat hit was massive put no vapor coming out on exhale. I tried adding a drop of vodka to a batch (albeit with hesitation) and found it didnt do that much. But to be honest I'm not one for alcohol and aint keen on adding more to find out if it improves it. I heard you can add distilled water but am unsure as to where I could get this???

So I thought I would get some glycerin B.P. I found some of this at boots for about £1.68 for 200ml. It is so much thicker than plain PG, almost sticky thick. Anyway i added some of this to a batch and have seen some improved vapor production, less throat hit and slight drop in flavour (though i could add more flavour I suppose). Also wanted some menthol crystals which they do sell, but it's over the counter and they were out of stock!!!! :(

Overall I am impressed but it's still not quite where the suppliers e-liquid is. So some more testing to be done.

Does anyone have any tips or know where i can get distilled water from????

thanks

Distilled water, which is only ever used to dilute VG is available from Car Parts shops, such as Halfords, and is used for topping up batteries in older cars. Also you can use De-Ionised water which is available through chemists.

It sounds as though you may be cutting your liquid too much.

I use 54mg Nic juice from TW, and I dilute that to 18mg

Method
14 drops or mls of PG or PG/VG mix or VG cut with DW.
9 drops of Nic in whatever base you choose
7 drops of Decadent Vapers Flavouring

I vary between that and 11mg.

Remember if you add anything else, extra flavouring etc., it will dilute that recipe.
Taking anything away will increase the strength.

Thats fine, its just easy to forget that extra flavouring will diminish the strength.

I used to vape around 11-18mg, so when I first started mixing I was meticulous on the amounts I put in, and would spend hours using the drop method.

Then I got too clever for my own good, I started mixing up larger batches using ml instead of drops, and would err on the weaker side rather than stronger. Although the recipe was well and truly in my head.

Months went by, and I thought ...hmm.. this doesnt have the kick it once did, but the flavour is ok...

Then I made that earlier post for you guys, and thought ... hang on, double check those measurements before posting them, and lo and behold I have been mixing up a strength of around 8 -9 mg ... no blinkin' wonder it didnt have much of a kick....hahaha

I'm new to vaping and would love to give this mixing lark a try, but I must confess it kind of baffles me...
There seems to be any easy calculator on the Cloud 9 site to mix...Cloud 9 Vaping E-Liquid Mixing Calculator - Cloud 9 Vaping

Anyone tried this method... Does it look like it would give good results?
Seems easier than some of the stuff I've tired to understand in some threads...

I haven't tried that specific one but just had a look and calculations are same as any other one.

just a question guys but does steeping it make that much of a difference? i've seen videos about steeping the juice and people showing the difference in colour over various stages. problem with flavourart is that most of the flavourings are clear, so im testing this just now with butterscotch, my only flavour to have colour. been about 4 days now and not really seeing that much difference.............

I havent tried Cloud9's calculator, but I do know Lisa, whose site it is, and she is a perfectionist, so I am certain that it will be 100% accurate. I have tried a couple of her flavourings and they are very good.

As for steeping, well, I do find that juices when mixed will change colour and in some cases, flavour improves over time.

I mixed an Apple/Candy Floss mix 4 days ago, which I started using immediately. On mixing it was totally clear, now on day 4 it's a pale peach colour..
