hi everyone . Only just joined the forum and already have a question for you guys... I have an innokin kroma and intend on buying a 5ml smok baby beast tank so I don’t have to keep refilling regularly. My question is this.
When I attach the tank to my mod will the mod automatically pick up the resistance of the m2 coil that is compatible with the baby beast tank? I ask this question because there are settings on my mod that I have to set depending on what material the coil is made of. There is also a ‘w’ mode which I assume is wattage?? Hope you can make head or tails of my question and would much appreciate if someone out there has the answer. Thanks MORT91

Unless you specifically bought TC coils(which I don't think is available for the BB) you don't need to set anything. Yes the w = wattage and is also referred to as power mode. Your mod will automatically read the ohms and you set the wattage where it taste good to you. After priming the coil, starting low in wattage and working up helps to break the coil in and they tend to last longer plus helps the wicking with the juice.

Ahh okay. So to use what it says on my mod now for example. 0.8 ohms is the resistance of my current coil and when I put the B.B. tank on it will just display the resistance of that coil? And thanks for the swift reply I was really worried about committing to buying the tank without knowing. It’s much appreciated

Yes your mod will read the resistance of the coil. What kind of tank system do you have now on your mod?

Cool. Who knew it would be so simple? Haha. I have the standard 2ml slipstream tank on at the moment. I’m using the 510 extension so the tank is not recessed int the mod because I struggle to see how much liquid I have left and had a nasty surprise with a burning taste in my mouth. This is my first e cigarette I stopped smoking a week ago.

Hi Mort and welcome! Your mod should be set to w, which is wattage mode. You need special temperature control coils for those functions and Smoking does not sell any. As to the resistance the mod should determine that when you attach the tank. If prompted for us this a new coil just answer yes.

Also, if you want the 5 ml version, remember to get the Big Baby Beast. The Baby Beast is the smaller version.

Thanks very much. It’s surprisingly very easy not to smoke. Vaping is sooo much fun
Yes, I think so too. Being able to taste the vapor is way better than smoking.....it kills smell and taste buds so you can't taste the smoke from cigarettes anyway.

You've gotten good answers regarding compatibility.

A word of warning on Smok coils--especially the beasts. Make sure a new coil is all put together right. The base of the coil head needs to be sitting nice and square and the black o-ring on it needs to be uniform all the way around.

Then make sure you prime your coil before using it.

I am not familiar with your mod, so can't comment much on that.

Is there a particular reason you are going with the M-2 coil? While it may/should work in variable wattage, it is my understanding the "M" coils were designed more to run at 3.7 volts provided by non-adjustable wattage batteries like "the stick V8". If you are buying just the TFV8 Big Baby Beast tank, it should come with V8 Baby X4 and V8 Baby T6 coils. The T8 is also available to purchase. That gives you the ability to try them all and decide which you prefer.

Whichever coil you go with, be sure to prime it well, start at lower wattage and adjust up, and "break it in" slowly.

The reason I’m going with the m2 coil is because that’s the one supplied with the tank. I am also going to purchase 5 m2 coils separately. Do you advise against this? If so I will see how the m2 coil performs and if it’s no good will use one you recommend? My mod has a coil with 0.8 ohms resistance and is running at 26 watts with 4.56 volts at the moment. That I imagine is going to change the second I put a different tank and coil on?

Since every vendor I use sells the TFV8 Big Baby Beast tank as a single purchase does not include the M-2 coil, curious where you are getting it? It should say right on the box what coils it comes with.

At any rate, if it does come with an M-2 coil, I would suggest picking up one of the X4, T6, and T8 (and I think there might be a Q2 as well) coils and give them all a try. If you are buying from a vape shop, they should also have at least some of those. If you are buying online, probably can't buy single coils, so check out a vape shop. Will cost more, but may be worth it to try several different coils. While I prefer the T8 coils, many here seem to really like one of the others. We each have our personal preference. That's why I suggest trying different coils to see which you may prefer. Then go with a box or two of 5.

Hi and welcome. You're in for a big surprise if you switch to a BB from a .8Ω coil at 26 watts. I don't have that tank, but I am not sure it will even get warm at 26 watts. I suspect you'll have to pump up the power some, and this may give you more vape than you want. But yes, do stick in wattage mode with the BB, AFAIK, it doesn't so TC coils.
