K100 with ViVi Nova Tank - help!!

I'm new to the ecig world and just upgraded from a eGo-C Twist 1000mAh battery to a K100. I'm not really trying to get into rebuildables yet so I'm using my ViVi Nova 2ML tank with a 1.8 ohm head. I'm also using a 3.7V Li-Ion TrustFire battery with the K100.

So when I fire up the first couple times I get a good vape but if I hold the fire button too long or hit it too many times I get a really bad burnt taste, like SUPER bad. I took the tank off and put it back on my eGo-C and the taste went back to normal.

I'm wondering if any of you have came across this or have any suggestions. Should I change the head to a 3.0, because I do have an extra one.

Quite frankly, going from the very excellent Twist (or Spinner) to a K100 is not really an upgrade.

Mechanical mods are tricky to get right. I have one or two and unless you get the right atomizer or ohms, they can be most frustrating.

I would NOT recommend 3.0ohms, that would be rather too low for most people. However, a 1.8 could be too low for a fresh battery. Most attys like a Nova are not going to like going over 8 watts or so. I suspect you are simply frying your juice.

Try a 2.4 nova head, maybe?

Welcome to ECF.

Yup, the big difference from the Twist to a mechanical is you lose the ability to change the power output of the device on the fly and have to do it by changing the resistance of the coil. Also, your battery will be outputing 4.2 V when fresh off the charger and then as you use it, it falls. If you let it get too low you will kill the battery.

I use a K100 for RBA's only. What I would suggest to you is to try cartomizers in tanks. They have a lot more leeway for power variation than clearomizers do. 1.5 to 2.0 ohms would be what I would try. Best of luck with it!
