Hello.
I recently got a Kamry K1000 as a birthday present and i love it.
However i want to treat it to a nicer tank, the one it comes with is OK if not a bit cheap feeling. It vapes quite well but i dont like how the atty is at the top, which is silly considering how a pipe is held.
So are there any K1000 users out there who could recommend a better tank?
Im new to mods too so im not sure what ohms i can go to? I think the stock is 1.5 but im not sure. It takes 3.7v 18350 batteries which are 800mah stock, which im also looking to upgrade as well as the charger if it would be of benefit?
Thanks

I would not go lower than 1.5Ω on the stock batteries as kamry does not list amp rating anywhere.

I totally agree with this.

Stock Kamry for all

If you are looking for a battery with a known Amp rating here are several batteries you can look for:

1. AW IMR 18350 800mah 12A (new)
2. Purple Efest IMR 18350 700mAh 10.5A
3. Efest IMR 18350 800mah 6.4A
4. AW IMR 18350 700mah 6A

If you were to use a 12A battery (#1 on the above list) this is the practice I follow with regards to Amps & headroom.

I try to never exceed 50% of the CDR (continuous discharge rating) of a fully charged battery (4.2volts). So with a 12A battery, that would be 6A. This Ohm's Law Calculator tells me that a 0.7Ω coil/build is as low as I would want to use.

The reason that I place a 50% limit is because as a battery ages the mAh of the battery degrades, as the mAh degrades so does the batteries c rating (amp limit). So down the road, my 12A battery may only be a 6A battery.

WHERE TO GET BATTERIES

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

I am not familiar with the Kamry charger so I don't know how well it performs. But if you find you need to replace it get the best charger that you can reasonably afford. Statistically most battery incidents occur while charging. Pila, Xtar, and Nitecore Intellicharger are the most recommended brands. Here are some safety tips:

1. Don’t leave a charging e-cig unattended; if something goes wrong, you need to be there to deal with it.
2. Overnight charging is asking for trouble; unplug the charger when the battery is powered up.
3. Charge away from sources of heat or intense cold, and keep it away from flammable items and children!

No, those Efests are ICR chemistry (Li-ion). You want IMR or Li-Mn batteries. (More mAh does not mean its a better battery. Check the chemistry first.)

The best battery for your device would be the new AW 18350 IMR 800mAh 12 amp battery. I recommend buying from RTD Vapor.

For a better clearomizer tank, I recommend a Kanger Aerotank2 with adjustable airflow. Larger version (Aerotank Mega) available, too. That would look good on your E-pipe.

Thanks, would those batteries i ordered not work at all then?
If not ill cancel the order thanks
They will "work", but they are not the ideal batteries to use in your mod. They are not safe chemistry batteries, they can vent flames or explode if there is a short circuit. Not worth the risk if you ask me, especially in a mechanical mod like your e-pipe which has no protection circuitry.

Thanks for the help, im new to mods so the batteries and chargers and stuff is all new to me.
Are these batteries OK to be discharged until vaping is practically impossible? With the pipe there are no LEDS or anything to tell me the battery is low.
Im used to Vision Spinners and the like, which auto cut off when the battery is too low. The pipe literally just has a push button with no lights.

Also, which coils will fit the stock Kamry clearo? Just as a back up i'd like some spares as it vapes fairly well for a stock 'unknown' clearo
Thanks

I wouldn't take them that far. You'll notice when your vapor gradually drops off to almost nothing. Replace the battery at that time. You'll get better at this with experience.

IMR batteries can be drained safely down to 3.2 volts. If taken down to 2.5 volts, they may not recover. Full charge is 4.2 volts.

That's difficult to say not knowing who the original manufacturer is. It sort of "looks" like a Kanger tank to me. However, not all Kanger coils work in all Kanger tanks. They are model specific.
