Had a go at rebuilding one, but there's a couple of holes drilled through the coil cylinder - the wicks have to .... against the insides of these holes, otherwise the liquid flows in onto the coils and sputters.
Obviously the factory has a machine that sets the coils in just the right position, but I can't seem to manage it.
Maybe there's some kind of heat proof absorbent fabric I can wrap round the coils to aid surface tension at the delivery holes - but I haven't the faintest idea if any suppliers do anything suitable.
