I've been using multiple 5ml Aspire Nautiluses for a while now. Love 'em. But after the recent discovery of the chromed brass chimney, I decided to get a Kanger Aerotank Mega (since it's supposedly all stainless steel), and I also got istick as a backup/stealth device. LOVE the istick, it's now my daily driver instead of the evic. I've noticed the istick usually needs to run about 1 full watt lower than the evic to get the same results, but that's ok.

Problem I'm having is the kanger is great on the evic, at about 8.4 watts, but I put it on the istick and I get burnt hits -- all the way down to 6W!

The Nautiluses have no problems other than just lowering my wattage a bit on the istick.

I don't get it...anyone have ideas? I've tried multiple coils. These are the "new" 4-hole dual coils.

There are a few problems with regard to the iStick's circuitry (it measures mean not RMS). It is not capable of down regulating power (it is widely inaccurate, especially at lower voltages).

If you are interested in seeing more about what is really going on with the iStick see a great post by fellow ECF member Peraspera: Wattage Ranges for Specific Ohm Builds Using iStick Specs

Wow thanks that perfectly explains it. The nauttie has a huge range of watts it will work at, so I don't notice it with the istick, but this kanger seems to need 3.6 volts--which the istick can't provide until its battery is low.
At least I can use it on my evic and sigelei.
I guess the istick seemed too good to be true.. And it is :). Still going to be my out of the house device, just not with the kanger. I've heard, I think, that the aerotank coils can be rebuilt, when I get to that stage I'll make higher ohm coils.
