im wondering if kanger coils are universal for all the kanger clearomizers or not. Im purchasing a kanger t3s and the only extra 1.8 coil heads i can find are for the pro tank. will they work for the t3s? :?:

No, you can't! The T3S coils work only in T3S, MT3S and baby T3S clearos. Evod coils work in eVods and ProTanks 1 and 2.

Protank 3 and Aero are dual coils and are not compatible with single coil bases....

I do believe the newer MT3s are coming with a base that uses the Protank heads. If not, you can obtain a base for the MT3 that uses the Protank coil.

Great...just when I had things figured out. :) The thing that confuses me the most is how similar the MT3S and ProTank style coils are...almost impossible to tell the difference. Yet, if you put a ProTank coil in the MT3S, it won't screw in by just a hair. I had to stop using my MT3S when I started rebuilding in order to avoid confusion with the parts. Might have to try out that base, though...that would be perfect!

I've got a P2. I've managed to rebuild it several times and the leaking disappeared. Then just recently the leaking started like crazy. I have no idea why. And so I got curious about the X9 Protank, which I've read is compatible with P2. I bought 2 and extra five coils to see if they're compatible with the P2, which they were, and so far the X9 tank has been performing well without the leaks and all the issues I've had with P2. I then changed the P2's coil with the X9 coils. No issues. The P2's coil shaft is longer and the X9 is shorter, but I don't think that's causing the leaking. I really have no idea what's causing this leaking. So now, based on this I'd buy another X9 instead of P2, or just X9 coils.

I may be wrong about the Protank heads fitting in the MT3 base. The site that I first saw the base on is no longer showing that they're compatible with the base itself. So it's likely that the MT3 heads are still slightly different from the Protank heads. Which is a bummer.

I think you are...

However, one can get new T3S and MT3 bases (to be used with T3S coils) and turn one's old T3, MT3 and baby T3 clearomizers into the "S" version (without buying new "S" clearomizers). I've done it and they work fine.

The T3 head will work in the Protank and Protank 2. The Protank head, however, will not work in the T3. This is due to the head flange of the T3 head being 8.9mm while the Protank head is 9.9mm in diameter.

I think Kanger should slow down a bit with all the new releases and get this mess under control. :D

Here's my 2 cents: your evod/ pro tank atty will work on a t3s. T3s attys can be difficult to find at a B&M. Many people have no issues with this, some have found their t3s to leak with the pro tank att. IF that happens, look at where the gasket from the atomizer meets the tube you draw from and you'll notice a gap. Take the atomizer off, take that gasket off and turn the gasket upside down and place it back on. That usually resolves any leaks.
