Figured that my question belongs here.

I have a PT2 and a PT3, but in the reviews and rebuilds that I am seeing, their pt3 heads look alot different than mine. Both are genuine pt clearos that i got unopened from a B&M a few weeks ago. The PT 3 has a resistance of 6.7 and the PT 2 is at 2.5. So I'm assuming that the PT 3 has a dual coil. But my PT2 replacement heads fit in the PT3 easily.

Did I just get lucky or something? I know when I bought the pt3 i figured id have to spend extra to get replacements but now i dont! hahaha

I can't tell you why your PT2 coils fit in your PT3 tanks; on paper, they shouldn't--they won't seal properly and your tank may leak. All those redesigns are very confusing indeed.

What is the different between the Protank 3 and the Protank II.

What worries me is the resistance on your PT3 coil--it should be 2Ω (yes, it a dual coil design, consisting of two 4Ω coils configured in parallel). 6.7Ω means that there is something wrong with that coil, a break about to happen. If you're sure of the accuracy of the reading, don't use that coil. It's defective--take it back to the store and have it replaced.

Yeah, I kind of figured there was something wrong with it. And after a little bit of research I did find that, though the threads fit the same, the seal isn't there. For now I have been using my pt2 with pt2 coils (obviously :p). I'll clean out and switch the head on my pt3 and see what happens.
