Just wanted to share my little successful experiment here. Opened two EVOD heads i had around. Fully disassembled them, then I rolled two 1 to 1.5 mm mesh wicks.

wrapped them in cotton (to prevent shorts with the metal head), 4 wraps on kanthal 30 around them. Reassembled everything and let it soak for a few minutes

VERY nice, very close to a well made Phoenix with the advantage of not having to continuously drip.

Certainly a LOT better than the stock replaceable heads they come with or you'd keep buying if you weren't into RBAs

on my first build I used 5 for one and 6 for the other. On these I'm taking the risk with 4 wraps and haven't had any problem at all on joyetech EGO-C batts.

Aand yes, they are great when going out but you still want the taste of an atty intead of a carto.

Too bad I didn't take pictures, I wasn't planning on posting here but the end results was so good I just felt i had to share at least the idea.

if you search in youtube how to rebuild them most people add a bit of silica on top of the coil for better 'wetness' on it. I didn't do this so I'm taking my drags just as you would on a bridgeless atomizer.

VERY tasty after a couple of hours of breaking the coil in.
