Kanger EVOD recoil issues

No lol I'm not I think you might be right though. I think I'm gonna also have to partake in that 30awg Kanthal you bought aswell. I mean 5 bucks for 100ft is alot better than what I paid lol. I'll also try to get my hands on a 1/16th drill bit. Until then I guess I will just have to recoil once a day

Somethings I have done in the past wile working on my evods.
Try a coil with twisted 34g wire. I had picked up some kantal that I thought was 32g, turns out it is 34g. Currently running a 5 loop 2.4 ohm twisted coil on my AGA's and works quit well with both cotton and mesh.
The shaft of a q-tip I think it's just a bit thicker then a 1/16 drill bit and has worked for me in the past.
After winding the coil, leave it on your form and use it to line it up in your wick slots. This will keep it from being too high or low.
Couldn't stand the tight draw on my evod's so I opening up the vent holes and started running a vertical micro coil. The flavor improvement was night and day.

I just got 100 feet of 30 gauge from Temco (great deal by the way, it was like five bucks with free shipping). How many wraps do you think I'll need with that for a Kanger coil? I haven't been rebuilding the coils since I learned you can just re use the existing stock coil by slipping some new silica in it, but I'm sure I'll need to sooner or later.

For 30 gauge wrapped around a 1/16th drill bit, 10/9 wraps would equal 2.0 Ohms. Each wrap is .2 Ohms so 11/10 wraps = 2.2, 12/11 = 2.4.

Just to clarify, when you're talkinga about microcoils, the wraps are touching each other, right?

Right, just like in the picture I posted. As tight as you can make them and as long as no wires overlap. If you noticed the second two coils in that picture were not perfect (tiny gaps) but as long as they heat up evenly from the inside out then you are good to go.

I Had the same IDEA NWar HIGH 5!!! I had remembered a video from Riptrippers about it. Sure enough I twisted it just like he did in the video, wrapped a coil 5 times that got me 1.8 ohms, set the voltage to 3.8 and man that thing lit up I've never heard so much sizzle come from an Evod lol.

Sorry to tell you this. We Cotton diehards open those coils and re wick the cotton almost daily. That silica crazy .... will go forever but,,,,nothing will breath and Vape like the Cotton. Worth the effort. Vape on.

I make 30ga. micro coils & cotton for the wife's tanks & they seems tp last at least 10 days. ALso she is a chain vaper using a Pro Vari so she keeps the voltage up there.
If you run the voltage too low the coil will get dirty pretty quick.

I need to work on getting a micro coil put together. I don't have a torch though but I am planning on buying a butane torch lighter. I've just been coiling, firing it and adjusting it afterwords. Here's My second Twisted coil build.

Well over time this issue has been resolved. Indeed it was the Kanthal that was the culprit. I ordered some 30awg from Temco (took them 10 days to get it here but w/e) and sure enough each coil has lasted me 4-5 days before needing a cleaning and keeps on ticking. I got myself a 1/16th drill bit I use for coiling and also got myself a butane torch so I can micro coil. I later ended up buying a IGO-L to test the waters of cloud chasing. I did enjoy it however the IGO-L in my opinion is a waste of time. Yeah it was super cheap and yeah it does the job but that thing is a pain in the ... to build on lol. Since the screw posts are not punched it makes getting the kanthal to snug in just terrible. This also creates coils too high off the deck and slightly at an angle to the top cap due to placement of the posts. I drilled the cap out to 1/16th and it did produce some clouds after 4 attempts to get a coil on it each time.... All in all though I think I will stick with the EVODs. They are actually more easy to build than the IGO-L and it's nice to not have to drip.
