Ok I have the mini protank, and although I like it wanted to try the mini protank 2, partly for the removable drip tip. So I kept an eye out to see when they would be instock at places, I found some on eBay and ebays not so bad. So I order two, this is what I got.

Looks good ( says mini protank -II in white above " clear atomizer series " pic didn't show it )

There's a seam, for the tip

Diagram hints at tip being separate

There's the seam again, wait what's this (v1)? Thing about

Comes apart, cool. But kinda wanted the removable drip tip really

Ok, I checked online. Szkanger.com shows the removable version. Kangeronline.com shows the solid topped one like I got. Strange. They seems to be the same company, but neither hint at a version options ( solid top or removable drip tip top ) not surprised really but seems weird when a different version is floating around. I had watched a video on someone trying a mini protank 2, it's one of the only ones up right now on YouTube. His had the removable tip.

From what I'm seeing, my box(es) have grey accents, like on the kangeronline.com picture. The szkanger.com site shows red accents ( and removable tip ). The video I watched he unboxed a red accented box. So it seems the red accent boxes are the removable drip tip version, and I got some first version or something.

Hope this clears things up for someone looking for these.

I'm not sure if all vendors are going to do this when they get the removable drip tip versions in but I know that Avid Vaper just got them in stock and they designate them as the Kanger ProTank Mini 2 Version 2.

The owner himself posted on Twitter the other day to confirm that they were the removable drip tip version. Just thought I'd post the link in case anyone is looking for one.

Oh awesome!

Yea, I didn't know the new version of the Pro tank 2 minis were even out yet!!!

For the original poster:

While the Kanger Pro tank 2 Now has a removable drip tip.....the Kanger Mini Pro tank 2 DID NOT.

It appears now however, that they just released a new version of the Kanger Mini Pro tank 2, version 2. This comes with a removable drip tip.

my only argument for that is then why have the box art and instruction manual depict the mini as having a removable drip tip when the tank doesn't? Imagine walking into a store, picking up a sealed box and seeing that photo. Id be highly upset getting home and finding the tank depicted not being the one in the box and rightfully so.

Kangertech kinda screwed up on this one imo. I believe the "vII" is the model they intendid to release in the first place. I think they screwed up, didnt want to scrap and redo all the top pieces or box art and pushed them out anyways. Then they corrected their epic "opps". Unfortunately alot of people got screwed in the process and didn't get the product they were lead to believe they were getting. XD

The only reason I haven't bought a mini protank was because of the drip tip. I hate metal drip tips. So when I heard they were coming out with a new version with a removable drip tip, I immediately started watching for them.

It was pure luck that I heard about the issue of removable vs. non-removable before I ordered a couple. If I had gotten one with a non-removable tip, I would have been seriously .......

Evidently (many/most of) the vendors weren't even aware of this. They thought they were getting (and advertised) the removable tip. I feel a bit bad for them, people are upset with them when it's really not their fault.

I've been eagerly awaiting the Protank Mini 2, after seeing version 2 with that ugly dark base, I'll stick with the Anyvape Davide mini, not sure why Kanger continues to do this on the mini model, so if you're in the market for a mini go with the Davide.

I don't understand that either. If that bottom ring was the same finish as the rest of the metal I would've ordered one in a heartbeat.

I received my pre-order today and got the V1 version. The email Kanger sent me when they notified me of the ability to pre-order contained pictures of the removable tip version. The announcement of the V1 and V2 versions came after I had already ordered.

I'm pretty ticked off.

I fired off a few emails to the available contact emails but I'm pretty sure no one will care.

It would cost me more to ship the thing back to Hong Kong than it cost me to buy the product.

That'll teach me to pre-order anything before it arrives at retailers.

I received mine a couple weeks ago and it does not have the removable drip tip. However, I'm not sure if mine was a "2" or not, I've thrown away all the packaging.

I'm disappointed even though it does have a metal drip tip ( I hate plastic ones) it's not removable. I like to interchange my metal ones. However, at least the top and bottom parts do match.

best regards, larry mac

If you can disassemble it from the glass for easier cleaning it is a KmPT II Version I. If only the base unscrews for cleaning/filling it is the original KmPT.
