Yo.

Looking to retire my My7's Hybrid Vision for a whole slew of reasons; mostly that S.S. Choice is slowly showing to be a selfish company that offers no help to their paying customers. Not the way any company should do business, especially when your product doesn't work the way it should. Talk about poor performance.

After a lot of lurking and reading reviews, It seems that this might be a very plausible next step for me (This is taken from the vape Dojo website's description):

  • Two 650 mAh variable voltage Kanger Evod batteries - twist style, 3.2-4.8 volts - silver color
  • Two Kanger Mini Protank 2 glassomizers with removable 510 drip tip
  • Four Kanger Protank coils (2.5 ohm coils)
  • Charger/USB/etc, etc.

Kangertech seems to get great reviews and it also seems their products are customizable/interchangeable with the majority of what's out there. $60 for all of it is also a great deal compared to what I got the My7's for.

My current My7's Hybrid auto-batt is 650 mAh which works just fine; don't think I need any higher capacity. Also would like to throw on a different drip-tip to further my personalization.

Anyone use this starter kit with the EVOD VV and the Mini Protank 2? I'm not in need of an APV just yet, so keep the responses mid-size-centric. Reviews? The Good, Bad, Ugly?

Thanks in advance.

I have Mini Protank II and a generic variable volt, 650 mAh ego style battery. The batteries with that kit are probably a lot better then my ego battery, but my battery did its job and did it well. It got me off cigarettes, and the vv helped get me a nice, strong throat hit when I really craved a cigarette. The mini Protank has proven to be the least issue prone clearo I own. No gurgling, no flooding, no leaking and no dry hits. I use a 50/50 PG/VG juice, which seems to wick just fine with Kanger's bottom coil designed clearos. I also have some generic plastic clearos that take the Kanger coils, but those do gurgle sometimes when the juice gets low. I think it has to do with the larger size of them in comparison to the Mini Protank. I've since moved on to the iTaste VV v3 and the MVP 2, but if my husband is using one and the other is charging or what not, I still occasionally use my old 650 mAh. Doesn't give me as great a hit, but it still does its job, and when it was my only PV it made it through the day on one charge on a work day. Weekends were another matter, but at least then I was home and able to charge it. Also, as I said, that battery wasn't a Kanger, so I'm sure the Kanger's are better. At $60, it's a good deal for everything you're getting, and a great place to start. Comes in twos, so you've got your back up that way!

Had just enough information that I could understand and not too much to confuse me. Brilliant; exactly what I was looking for. HUGE thanks.

Another n3wb question: difference between clearomizers and glassomizers? Clearo is one that has a smaller window to see your juice level whereas a glasso is a chamber entirely out of glass?

Other than that, I might be sold.

The EVOD has the small window like you describe but there are other clearomizers made of plastic that are more like the Protank in terms of the visible part being clear.

I like the EVODs and Protank mini 2 that I have. The Protank is a more airy draw. But it isn't worse to me, just different. The other thing is that the glass Protank can handle any liquid whereas the plastic tanks have been known to crack with certain juices.

I was thinking about that kit from Vape Dojo and I'm still on the fence for myself, but I do think it is a GREAT option.

ETA: I got my EVOD starter kit from Vape Dojo and was pleased with the company. I would order from them again without hesitation.

Sounds like a great setup at a good price! I started similarly, but opted for the Kanger mini Unitank. I wish I went with the mini pt2. The mini unitank is considered a clearo (plastic, opposed to glass, like yours). I think "glassomizer" is just used as a term to differentiated between a plastic (polycarbonate) vs. glass (pyrex) construction. Clearo also mostly refers to smaller/slimmer type toppers as opposed to tanks (2.5+ml capacities).

I recommend this kit to all people
starter / backup / gift , no matter what level your at, it just fits in and works...

- - - -

or a glass clearomizer - no difference between clearomizers and glassomizers (pastic or glass)

basically either a dripper - clearo - carto

get that kit and you will be happy :)

Both glass and plastic are considered clearomizers. Some people and sites refer to glass clearos as glassomizers though, to differentiate them from the plastic ones. The upside to the glass clearos is that you don't have to worry about which juice you are putting in it. Cinnamon and citrus can sometimes react with plastic and cause plastic to crack. No issues with that when you've got a glass clearo.

To everyone: You are all such a great help. I am so thoroughly impressed with this forums already and have only posted a few times. I am going to head into the local tobacconist/vape shop this Tuesday to see if they have the same thing and if they can price match Vape Dojo.

Thanks for being awesome people.

Great description! The only downside to a "glassomizer" is that plastic is MUCH more forgiving if you drop it!

I just bought replacement glass for mine and hubby's. $3 something a pop. Not too bad. Also got some spare seal rings (silicone rings that go between tr glass and metal) as my husband lost one down the drain and I had to canibalize another plastic tank for a o ring of comparable size. He refuses to use anything other then a mini protank. I also got him another to keep on hand should something happen to the first. He's very picky and stubborn, so when he found a set up that suited him, that was it. Unfortunately it was MY set up, but that's another story.

Pick up some kanthal wire while you're there, so down the road if you want you can try rebuilding the coils. Get some organic, sterilized cotton balls, too, to rewick the heads - it's better flavor, and easy!

Once you find some favorite juices, you may want to look into a ProTank II, only because it holds a lot more juice - a mini lasts me about half a day, a Protank can last me all day.

After what you've been using, I think you'll like the ProTank mini a lot! They're a good step up, and will probably be an often-used member of your future collection.

The kit you are looking at will be great for you. I have had those devices and loved them.
When you go into the local store to try to get a price match I would make sure to stay with the VV batteries. They give you the option to change the wattage you vape at with different ohm coils. I have a friend who uses fix voltage batteries (3.7 volts) and he was using 2.5 ohm coils. This was only giving him about 5 watts of power(heat). Got him to switch to 1.8 ohm coils and he loved it. This combo gave him about 7.5 watts of power.
The VV batteries will give you choice.
