You may be getting "dry hits" (it is not wicking as fast as you are vaping - common issue if you chain vape)
Kanger protank heads are known to have this issue

Pbusardo shows how to remove 1 of the 2 (or 3) top wicks aka flavor wicks in this Protank 1 review - skip ahead to about 8:45 or so

I was getting a 'burnt taste' on my Davide this morning, similar to what you describe, right after installing a new atomizer.

I found that I had not been careful enough setting things up -- the atomizer wasn't seated tighly enough into the base of the Davide, while the Davide was screwed too tightly onto my mod (I need to use a wrench to remove it).

After making a couple quick adjustments, everything was fine.

Regards
Glenn

I usually only get 3-4 days out of a coil with any protank. I set them aside when I get that burnt taste and pop in a new one. Once a week I will clean-dry burn my coils. They don't last forever, this is normal. After clean-dry burning once I will give them another round and then toss them. It's not like they cost 25 bucks a piece. Cigs were far more expensive....

You cant adjust the voltage on my battery. Im going into the shop today and finding out whats wrong

If the battery doesn't have a bottom cap with numbers printed on the base that you can 'twist' to adjust the voltage then it isn't a twist battery.

As far as the prostank goes I haven't had any luck with any of them, some folks love them.

The taste has to do with the head. Protanks take a while to get going (for me). It's possible that you were not feeling a decent hit the first few times, kept the battery going too long per drag, and temporarily got that heat and the burnt flavor. If so, things should straighten out fairly quickly. Another possibility is that the head is bad. Try it again with a new head.

I'm starting to realize that tank/battery/juice is a very personal thing. The taste depends on juice/pg-vg preference, and manner of vaping. It's also possible that this is simply the wrong combination for you.

Ejuices that are heavier in VG percentage will usually take longer to completely saturate the wicks.

I found that removing one of the two flavor wicks that rest on top of the coiled wick will usually improve the draw and strength of vape.

Since I started rebuilding my coils I found that using a 2mm Ekowool wick for the coil and a 1mm Ekowool flavor wick work great for the ejuices I use. They're usually a 50 PG / 50 VG blend of NET-based flavors.

If the voltage isn't adjustable it could be the head is a 1.5 or 1.8 ohm head and is getting to much power (hence burning your juice). You mini should have came with 2 heads - 1 of them should be a 2.2 or 2.5 ohm - try that, it should be better.

PS The resistance value is printed on the head near the bottom, under the white insulator. Not easy to see with my old eyes lol. The values aren't exact but usually in the ballpark (within .1or.2 ohms)
