Kanger MT3S venting problem

Hello all! I am new to the forum and this is my first thread. Just a little back story about myself. I have been using an e-cigarette in some form or fashion since November 2012. However, I have only been free of analogs (new word I learned tonight by reading other threads...lol) for 2 1/2 weeks. My first setup was a Christmas gift from my girlfriend's parents. They got us 2 Ego C 1100 pass through batteries each, a CE4 tank each and a few (old school) drip tip atomizers. At first, I liked the drip tip way best even though it did get annoying filling on each break at work. I never did really like the CE4 top feeders because I never got much of a throat hit. So for different reasons (ie bad atomizers and frustration) I continued to use analogs more often then not until the middle of last summer. That's when my girl forced me to go to a local vapor shop because she wanted to get her setup updated and said I should do the same. I ended up with a CE5 tank using the same battery and I liked this better but it still wasn't as much of a throat hit as I was hoping for. Also, I had the ecig in my pocket at work one day when the plastic separated from the metal base and I got a pocket full of e liquid. Let me tell you it is no fun being at work feeling rather goofy from the nicotine that absorbed through your skin. Then a few weeks later we went to another vapor shop (All About Vapor in Austin, TX) and was offered the tank that would eventually get me to quit altogether. I was sold a Kanger Evod which the lady said would be better for me if it was going to be in my pocket. She was partially right because I did still have problems with it down the line from keeping it in my pocket but I have since switched to using a lanyard. Where it really changed my life was that I finally felt like I was smoking without an analog. It was awesome. I did until recently continue with the BS excuse to myself that an ecig wasn't satisfying after a meal and continued with analogs in a limited fashion. But right before Christmas this year, I got a real bad chest cold which I quickly passed on to my girlfriend. We both were basically not smoking during this time and when the last pack ran out we both looked at each other and said "E-cigs full time?" As it stands, I am currently using a generic variable volt 900 mAh passthrough with ego c connector and the Evod which I love but full time e-cig use and evod equals refill twice a day sometimes. I tried a Smoketech ARO pyrex tank which holds 2.5ml and has great vapor but between somewhat of a gurgle problem, the heavy weight and being somewhat fragile I didn't really want to stick with it. So I did some research and saw Kanger had the MT3. It looked like a cross between the ARO and Evod. It had the size of the ARO without the weight so I purchased it from an online store. When I got that in the other day, I got it all setup, screwed it on and found I could not pull any air through it. I would unscrew it a little and it would get a little better but I had to leave it too loose for my comfort to really feel anything so I put my Evod back on. By the way, I still have the Ego C 1100 passthough which still works and the MT3 does the same thing on there. The part that bothers me the most is that almost all the reviews on the MT3 I have read state a very loose hit and I am having the exact opposite problem. Anyway, very long story short, I was wondering if anyone had any advise/similar experience they could share here. My best guess is that the vent holes in the base are drilled kind of low (especially compared to my ARO) and thought it might be a defect. Anyone out there with any suggestions please let me know. I would really like to find a larger tank with the ruggedness and strong vapor capabilities of the Evod.

Thanks

see if you can drill a tiny hole (1/32", then enlarge to 1/16" if too tight a draw) above the current air hole(s)... it could be the battery you are using has more/longer amount of threading that blocks the air holes...

i have almost the full line of kanger tanks and really like the t3s tank... even more so the Evod, because of the better flavor and vapor production (out of the t3s)...

If youre into getting a new tank, the protank 2 would be my suggestion for an alternative that fits your qualifications... (id strongly suggest the protank mini, but that only holds 1.6ml of juice or so... the PT2 i believe holds 2 or 2.5ml. Outside the Kanger line, would be the Iclear 30s... Its a top dual coil tank, also top fill (vs the bottom coil, bottom fill Kanger line of clearos.). Just dont let your juice capacity get lower than 1/5th the tank cap or you may burn out one of the coils, leading to discolored and burnt flavored juice. (until you change the coil head to a new one...) Those would be my suggestions, based soley on my experience and not what ive heard or read. (ive only been vaping since late Oct '13, and have been for the most part analog free since mid Nov.)

Last thing to keep in mind is that with any of the dual coil tanks, you need a bit more power from your battery to heat up two coils, thus shortening the durations of your battery needing to be charged.

Oh, my last tank suggestion would be the Ismoka or Eleaf Mega BCC. Large tank cap, decent flavor and vapor production. Btw ive only used the MINI version of the BCC, and although vapor production is plentiful, i think certain flavors are slightly muted in comparison to the same juice running in my Kanger tanks. (specifically the PT2 mini, and T3s. I find the EVOD is just terrible for some reason compared to the other Kanger tanks).

Hope that helps...
