I seem to recall someone posting that the coils for the Kanger ProTank I and II are not compatible with the ProTank III, however I ended up with a ProTank III because my local vape store felt bad that the battery I purchased had met and untimely demise, and threw in a extra tank when I purchased the same starter kit.

All excited about this gift, I found the performace of the Kanger III to be simply OK, to mostly underwhelming. Thinking perhaps the coil was just a dud, I pulled out the extra coil in the kit, only to find it is for a top coil tank and not useable for me at all. Not wanting to go purchase yet another stock pile of different coils for the Kanger III, I decide to pop one in from my existing protank I and II stockpile and low and behold, it vapes up perfectly with zero leaks, so apparently the old coils ARE compatible with the new tank.

Which begins me to my questions, has anyone used compared the protank II and protank III tanks side by side with the dual coil intended? Is it worth me for me to try and purchase dual coil replacements (I am rather satisfied with it's current performance)? Is the protank III very compatible with the old coils? Could I have some knockoff that "says" it is a protank III, but really be a protank II?

The more I look at the two coils side by side, the more I wonder WHY it works as well as it does (or at all for that matter). Yes, the PT III's are taller, but the PT II's have a longer tube which inserts inside the breathing tube (perhaps sealing it???). All I can say is that the original coil leaked profusely and produced vapor sporatically if at all, where the PT II coil works perfectly with zero leaks and nice vapor production.

Looking at the PT III on the Kanger site, the one I have sure does look like one. If it's a knockoff, then it is a GREAT look alike for the PT III, but functions exactly like a PT II.

The shop I obtained my equipment from are real friendly, helpful folks who are willing to spend as much time as needed helping out, however they are a bit clueless when it comes to the coils, in fact I had to point them at a few web sites to obtain coils since they were hard pressed to locate more than a few replacement coils, forcing me to purchase online.

I'll call it a happy case of... "Hmmmm... I wonder what happens if I try this?" since I can add this tank to my rotation without having to keep a seperate supply of coils.

My camera is now out on the town with my girlfriend, but the before and after coils I have appear exactly as they do on the KangerTech site.

I bought a PT 2 recently and the vendor sent me a PT 3 instead. Was pretty ...... at first, I rebuild my coils and had no desire to sacrifice my collection of them. I haven't even tried the new dual coils yet, immediately out of the box I slapped a PT 2 coil in and it worked fine. Used it for two days, laid it on its side all night, held it upside down and sucked... No leaks. I use 60/40 so maybe the pipe inside the PT stem is tight enough to not let the thick juice through. Just to be safe though, I took a silicone top seal off of another coil and put it on the pipe backwards(facing upwards to meet with where it should seal) and it cups right around where the new coils would seal. Works great! No complaints!!
