My wife picked up a Kanger Aerotank Mega yesterday. I must say, it's a real nice looking, well constructed piece and I am impressed with it's quality.

I have been rebuilding standard protank coils for my wife's Protank II for some time, but I have never bothered with rebuilding a Protank III coil.

My wife, who is the manager of a local vapor store informed me the standard Protank III coils work in the new Mega, so last night I built one with a single 5/64" microcoil and cotton. Worked awesome in the new Mega, and outperformed the stock mega coil. :)

.......But then I see what the new Kanger coils look like. Anyone taken one of these apart to try and recoil it? I'll be tearing one apart once she's used it up.

I saw a video (I think by Pbusardo) that showed the new enclosed coils are just the old style coils with a sleeve over it. He was able with some effort to remove the sleeve with pliers, so it can be done. Eventually I'll get a Mega but I'll probably just use the original dual coil heads in it. Much easier to rebuild.
