I am using one of these, and for the most part i am loving it, but the bottom fill cap has been getting really sticky lately.
So sticky that i had to take the whole bottom off the tank and use an 8mm wrench and a pair of pliers to get it apart last night.

Also it seems to be going through about twice as much eliquid as my iclear 30 tanks.

has anyone else noticed these issues on their protank 3's?

I'm not using one, but here's a possibly relevant piece of information I received from Terri at the Vapor Lady Lounge. When I saw she was carrying the PT3, but not the replacement attys, I emailed her and this was her response:
There is a problem with the gasket on the bottom of the atomizer, it is silicon and mashes easily, this is causing problems with the atomizers suddenly not firing, you can mess with them a bit and get them going again, but I don't think a customer should have to do this kind of thing just to get a decent vape. I am sure that Kanger will address this issue soon and correct it.

I have one, but I honestly don't tend to notice if I am vaping it, or one of my 2s.

I have had both problems - the stick, and the not firing. I figured out the cause of both the first time it happened and neither have been a problem since.

I just sort of accept that vaping comes with a certain expected amount of fidgeting and tinkering.

I think the gasket in question here is the one on the base of the atomizer itself (the white one on the battery connector), not the one in the base of the tank.

As for the problem with the base not loosening, make sure when you fill the tank that you tighten it down enough to be snug, but not over tight. If you over tighten it, the seal acts like a "lock" and won't easily release. This may actually damage the seal. Also, be careful when attaching the tank to the battery, sometimes this will also put a little extra twist on the base plate and cause it to tighten on it's own. Again, tighten it ONLY until it is snug, as over tightening will cause problems eventually somewhere in the system.

As a general rule, with any ecig, pieces that mate together by threading are designed to be snug, no tighter than that. Putting too much tension on them and over tightening causes all kinds of problems, from non firing coils to leaking tanks, to stressed and stripped threading ... As always though ... YMMV!

i think i over tighten stuff, as i kept having problems with the tank wanting to unscrew from the base plate and not the battery so i just made sure to really tighten the base to the atty. i will just have to learn not to use gorilla hands when tightening all these things. Also i think it may be wise to wipe out the threads after filling. as sticky juice probably does not help.
