Kanger Protank Mini 3 problems

My "travel" vape is an iTaste vv V3 with a Kanger Protank Mini 3 on it. However, it's been giving my problems and I'm not sure what the cause is. If I put a new coil in, it vapes absolutely fine for most of the day. During the early evenings usually though, it will cut off at about 5 seconds of vaping it. The iTaste has a cutoff of 10 seconds, and when it cuts off the light flashes green 5 times which is what happens after the 10 seconds. If I pop a new coil head on it, it will go back to normal. There is also a pretty noticeable decrease in vapor production as well. Why is this happening? I have tried drying all the contacts with cotton swabs, but there is virtually no juice buildup at all. I also vape it 3.7 volts so I don't think its an issue of too much power going to it. I have gone through 4 new coils in the past couple days.

How hard are you tightening the atty on the battery? Look at the old heads and check the bottom insulator if it's crushed or deformed compared to the new ones

There's no noticeable deformities, but I do screw it on pretty tight so that could be why. I'll try doing it with less force and post back tomorrow.

Probably where tchavei is getting at, you could be shorting it out. Do you find it happens just after you screw the tank bank onto the mod like after filling it?

You could pull the lower pin of the head just a little out just a hair to relieve the pressure and try again.. Still the 5 second part doesn't make much sense... A short is a short. It shouldn't happen after 5 seconds unless... Hmm... What is the resistance of your coils?

I had a weird experience a couple of weeks ago with my vv3 and a rebuilt coil. Basically I made it too low. It was OK when cold (1.3 Ohm) but after using it for a few seconds it would heat up and read a little under 1.2 so the vv3 would shut down due to low load... Obviously that was with a rebuilt coil. It should never happen with a stock coil though (they are at least 1.5 I think)

Ps : or was that with my zMax? Not 100% sure now but it did cut off suddenly in the middle of a vape

Ps 2 : it could be due to movement of the pt3 during the vape. If it rocks a little when you grab the atty while on the vv3, that can change the resistance and also produce a short during vaping if the bottom insulator is deformed

I was having a different issue with an Aero tank, it kept shorting out my atomizers within minutes or hours. I replaced the bottom air flow control piece that the atty screws into and the problem went away.

I put a 0.1mm spacer as I only was having that problem on my zMax, not on the vv3 (aerotank mini. The pt3 mini always worked fine)
