Hi guys,

Recently started rebuilding on the rba for the subox mini. I'm using kanthal 28 gauge wire with around 4 wraps of 2.0 diameter to give me .6-.7 ohms. Usually fire around 15-19 watts

I notice that i have to rebuild almost every other day as the liquid started turning brown. Am I doing anything wrongly hence my coil burns out so fast?

Thanks !

I don't rebuild my coils when they get gunked. I will dry burn the wick and remove it from the coil. Then dry burn the coil to remove the gunk. Then just rewick it. You can usually get a few rounds of use this way from one coil. It's much simpler to change the wick than do a total rebuild.

I don't know why your juice is changing color so fast, but sweeter juices are harder on coils and wicks.

My friend if you use cotton you can not dry burn simply because if the cotton is dry it burns. you take out used cotton, dry burn (I even wash after giving it a 5 sec fire and of course when I take my hand off the button) and use a new cotton.

I am relatively new to the RBA thing, but I've had good results (for me, anyways). I just skipped the whole dry burning altogether. I pull out the wick, rinse the wick and then it with running water to give the coil a gentle scrub, dry the coil and re-wick. So far, it seems fine, and the flavor has been great.
