Its really important to establish if your using the older coils or the new vertical ones, if they are the older ones then vaping the 0.5ohm coil at 45 watts will give you dry hits..the 1.2ohm is really more for lung to mouth, the older ones also had the problem of you could screw them down too tight as you mentioned, the newer ones don't..

Oh, they should be ok, I find my way better than the older ones

I just picked up a black Subtank Mini today after missing my original that I sold a couple of months ago. It's my first experience with the new vertical coils and man what a treat. 42-45W, 80VG/20PG juice trying to get a dry hit and couldn't.
