I've had the same coil in mine for 6+ months. When you take out the old wicking, gently pulse power into the coil to burn off the gunk before rewicking. How often you rewick is up to you, as it is use and personal taste dependent.
I use the rba and OCC for the STM. When I use the OCC with my 90/10 VG/PG juice I have to leave it around 20w and set the AFC to the 2 small holes. Taking hard draws to vape pulls juice into the wick. I can usually chain vape 4-5 hits before I notice a reduction in flavor.
Dude, thanks for all your help. And thanks for allowing me to ask so many questions... lol. So the first wick I made was too thin..... had some leakage. Pretty sure that's why. I just rewicked it.... hopefully this works better. But I've got a big question after vaping today with the RDA.... It seems to be vaping much warmer.

Cotton density varies quite a bit in the factory coils, some times there is so much it restricts juice flow, if you have cotton on hand look for youtube video's on how to rewick the coils, you can rewick your other coils that taste burnt as well, should save you some bucks..
Just to throw in my 2cents... 6 - 8 wraps of 26ga on a magic blue screwdriver or something just slightly larger. Flavor is great. Wicks like a champ at reasonable power levels. Amazingly easy to build and just a great vape.
The RBA plus is a must. I had the original and the juice holes were tiny. Since I bought the RBA plus (the one with 2 large holes) higher VG juices work fine.
