I own both a nautilus Mini and a Subtank Mini. Both tanks deliver good flavor, but if you like a cooler vape or are not a lung hitter, I think the nautilus is a better fit. I've also had more problems with the Kanger, such as spitting with the 1.2 ohm coil, occassional leaks, and trying to find a comfortable sweet spot (as the Kanger tends to run hot). My two Nautilus Minis have pretty much worked fine from day one. I haven't used the RDA section yet, but I may try that with a 1.8 ohm single coil and see if that finally gets the Kanger where I want it.

Also, if you go sub-ohm, you'll likely need new e-juices at a lower nicotine level.

Same here, I have both. The mini is a bit hot for me even at 13-15 watts one the 1.2 coil. I tried a few different drip tips and it helped a little, but still too how. Intrestingly, my regular (full size) subtank seems to keep the vapor cooler and there's a lot more vapor. I use the RBA deck on the regular sized subtank.

I have both as well, and I still prefer the nautilus mini probably am not the person for lung hit and sub ohm tanks, I'll give the subtank a try again once I get my hands on the istick 50. So it really depends on what you need tho.
On the other hand, the tip gets hot pretty fast which I don't like it. Any cooler tips to use? Running 1.2ohm for the subtank...cheers

I can't say enough good things about the best tank Kanger has made to date; the Kanger Subtank Mini is all any vaper needs to be a happy vaper. It's a perfect 22 in diameter, and looks great on my 50watt iStick, and on my Aspire CF SubOhm battery. It works great on both devices, and the OCC coils are the best coils on the market, hands down. I've had my Subtank almost a month, and the .5 coil is still going strong; these coils last, and have come a long way from the single coils used in Protank 2.
The are very much worth the 12 bucks I pay for a 5 pack that looks like it'll last 4 months. The single coils only lasted me a couple of days...and this vaping Mama was happy when the Enclosed dual coils came into the vaping scene. BTW, we are given several choices on which coils to use with our Subtanks.
1. The Kanger OCC coils in .5, or 1.2
2. The Kanger Enclosed Dual SubOhm coils at .8
3. The pre-built RDA coils that come with Subtanks
4. Or, we can build our own coils for RDA deck
I must give Kangertech credit! They make the best tanks for the best prices. I still have my 2 1/2 years old Protank that works, and my husband, who isn't into SubOhm vaping, loves his Kanger T3D tank that takes Enclosed dual coils.
My favorite eliquids are even better vaped SubOhm in my Kanger Subtank Mini & I already want another one.

I've used and have subtank mini, nautilus, lemo drop, kayfun v4 clone with authentic parts inside, and a goblin but for the price and easy build also taste factors I love my subtank mini. Airflow u can go high or low also don't have to drain tank if you want to change coil. Kayfun v4 is good also but it's $180 for authentic vs subtank $40-60. Nautilus was good when I started but after using rda I just couldn't go back to it[emoji29] and subtank never leaked on me so far. Had it for a month now but it's really great and user friendly tank. [emoji1]
I've never had any problems with the Kanger Subtank Mini leaking, and I am using the .5 coil. I bought an Aspire CF SubOhm battery first, because I found one on sale for 19 bucks! Best money I ever spent on a battery; you can't even find an older Vision Spinner for less than $20, and the Spinner 2's are $27. The Aspire CF SubOhm battery is in a whole different class; many folks like the Aspire CF SubOhm Mod, too. I already own Mods that run on 18650 batteries, and prefer a built in.

The Kanger Subtank Mini is 22 in, and that fits most Mods, which is exactly why I chose that one out of the three choices. I can't imagine why anyone would have leakage problems unless they don't have genuine Kanger products. My tip has NEVER been HOT, either, even using the .5 coils. I would check the product ID; people who order from eBay or little known companies often get counterfeits.

Cheers for all the pointers guys. I think I'll go with the nautilus mini as I prefer the mouth to lung hits also I'm and noob and all this sub ohm and .5 coils makes no sense to m

Hello, Matt, and welcome!

May I point out that you're not limited to those two choices. And since you're a new vaper and not sure about sub-ohming (neither am I, BTW, afte 5 years of vaping, so don't feel bad ;)), I suggest you consider the new Eleaf GS Air tank--it's cheaper and perhaps even better than the Nautilus. It can be had for under 10 bucks and it vapes beautifully. The flavor and vapor production are outstanding.

Please see this thread if you're curious:

Good luck!

Guys, thinking about buying the kanger sub tank mini too. The question I have is how long does the OCC coil last ?? I am using the egoone now now and the coil lasted like 3 to 4 days only. Even though the sales person promised me it will last one month
I think I all depends on how much you vape and what kind of e juice you use (vg/pg) due to higher vg some coils burnout faster due thickness of the liquid. When I've use atlantis had to change coils 3-4days max 1 week. Subtank mini I use rba part so didn't have that problem anymore I've used it without changing coil/cotton and been vaping on it 3 weeks now. And it's my everyday tank[emoji1]. Think I should've have changed cotton at least but oh well lol(knowing that it's going to be dirty). I use 60vg/40pg juice and works great so far hope you like it too when you get it[emoji5]

I find that the Subtank Mini has no flavour compared to the eGo One. Everyone is praising it's flavour... but I think that's - exagerrated.

Either there's something wrong with mine, or the eGo One has 10 times more flavour.

I can't taste neither my 'nana Cream nor my Madrina - just smell - with my Subtank Mini.

They make me smile and arch my back in pleasure when I vape them with my eGo One.

Other than that, the Subtank Mini is superior in everything else. It should be, it's twice the size.

Easy to fill... easy to see how much liquid still inside... easy to this, easy to that.

However, at the end of the day - it's all down to flavour for me. I would smoke from a rusted pipe if it meant more flavour.

Another thing that I do not like about the Subtank is the fact that the coil has the intake holes quite high - as such, you have to keep the juice above 10-15% at all times. There's no 'smoking it all' with this thing. If you want to change flavour, you either throw away the remaining 15% and wash it or you mix them up. There's no smoke until it's gone, then fill with another flavour.

I hate that, since like I said, I'm all about flavour, and I change them quite often. 3-4 times a day.

I have both the ego one and the subtank mini. I would have to say I get better flavor from the mini. I think the problem with the minis is that they have had a few revisions along the way. The newest ones have juice channels that run all the way to the center air hole on the rba. With the right coil build the flavor is absolutely amazing.

Hi StarreL,
Noob here! I have a iStick 50W in the mail and am thinking about trying the Subtank Mini (using iStick 20W and Asp. Nautilus Mini currently). I like ordering stuff online, but with the recent dockworker problems in LA, it seems a lot of online vendors are out of stock. After browsing a few online vendors, I have yet to find one that works like Amazon (i.e. in stock/out of stock real-time update, how many days until back in stock, send email when back in stock, etc.). Do you buy your Kanger tanks online or other accessories? If so, could you give me a couple of online choices to consider? Thanks.

I have the subtank mini and istick 30w and its a very nice combination.

Looks nice together and it really vapes great wether you're using the occ coils or the rba, sub ohming or not.

That does not look like a 30wt iStick ?

Hi Locke and welcome to ECF!

I'm not Starre, but I like to shop at SweetVapes--they have good prices, fast shipping and they carry genuine products. Great vendor.

+1 for the SubTank Mini and +1 for Sweet-Vapes

I was using a Joyetech Delta 19 and full size and mini Nautilus. I got the SubTank Mini and it is far superior for me. It's large tank and great airflow make it the best tank I have had to date.

I got it from Sweet-Vapes and what little business I have done with them has been exceptional.

They sell silicone sleeves for the istick 20W/30W now.

Thank you, I had no idea and with that pic it looked totally different. Very nice! I guess I should add... I have a nauty mini, subtank mini and nano and I prefer the subtank a by far and I'm using 1.2 coils around the 30 watt range.

Hi I am new to this, can help advises if the sub tank mini can run on a evic from joytech

Thanks,

Nope. The eVic will not fire any atties below ~1.2Ω, so even the 1.2Ω OCC coils are risky. Your eVic will most likely consider them as a short circuit and will shut itself off to protect the circuitry.
