I have been running 2 ST minis (unmodified) for the last year or so. They are the first sub ohm tanks I ever bought. They are decent tanks and I can build good coils and wick them so they run well. Lately I have been running spaced 26g kanthal, wrapped on a 3mm screw driver. Using the pancake wicking method. Having experimented over the last year they spit when not enough wicking is used and the flavor is muted when too much cotton is used.
I have had some other tanks over the last year as well. Primarily the Goblin and goblin Mini. The flavor and vapor production were awesome. Unfortunately, they are not as durable as the ST mini. Both of those have broken and gone to the vape boneyard. I did order 2 Goblin Mini Clones from 3FVape the other day but don't expect to see them for awhile.

On a whim while ordering a new IPV D3 to replace the IPV D2 that the screen went dim on, I ordered a ST mini V2. I received them yesterday.
I tried the OCC vertical coil for a bit. I found it to be underwhelming. So I coiled and wicked up the RBA with the same coils I run in the V1. The airflow is slightly better, vapor production and flavor are about the same. juice flow seems to be much better. On the V1 if I chain vape 3 or 4 drags I tend to start to get dry hits. Let it sit for a minute to let the wick resaturate and they are back to normal. Now on the V2 I can't make it dry hit. I can hit it until i am light headed and get no dry hits. The flavor is also very consistent. I am really liking the V2.
I guess it is time to break out the dremel and drill some holes on the V1 chimneys or maybe just grab some v2 bases and RBAs.

I know there are better tanks out there but the ST mini has been a consistent, solid performer for me. It has also been the most durable tank I have owned.

I think I am in the Minority.

Because I prefer the Original RBA Sections over the ones with the Side e-Liquid Holes.

BTW - If anyone wants to convert their Subtank Mini to a Top Fill, these work Great...

Personally, I'd just buy a few RBA bases. That would be the cheapest way to upgrade them.
Plus, you never know when you might want to use a thinner juice and go back to the old style. Mine I bought recently came with the new "plus" version with holes in the chimney; eventually I plan on getting one of the old ones with the juice channels so I have both options available, should I ever want that one.

I think sweet-vapes has the V1 RBA in stock. Most have the V2.
