Hello!
i just bought a subtank mini v2 and im getting dry hits,,..Changed the coil to a new one,,bought new wick,,made 1,5 and .5 coils and still getting dry hits,,dis everything from the start 5 times..using ipv mini 2 at 10 to 21 watts..
NEED HELP!! pls

What is your e-Liquids PG to VG Ratio?

If you are running Thick High VG, it can make a Hugh Difference if you put 2 or 3 Drops of Water into you Tank when you fill it with e-Liquid.

im using 50 50

50:50 @ 10 ~ 20 Watts shouldn't be that Bad. If fact, it Should work Good.

Let's back up a second. Are you using the Pre-Made Coil Heads? Or are you using the RBA Section with your Own Coil and Wick?

If you are using the RBA Section, do you have the New One with the Holes in the Barrel? Or do you have the Orginal Style with the e-Liquids slots in the RBA Deck?

We're missing some vital bit of info here. What material, dimensions, turns, wick material... I run 95% Vg through this rba at 25w, and it could drain the tank before I'd get a dry hit.

If you have plenty of wicking material in the chamber you should be able to prime it and do a 5 second Vape outside of the tank. Could you try this and post back?

I'm thinking that the problem is the power delivered, not the tank.

26gauge wire,5 turns ..2.5 inner diameter..Fiber Freaks or japanese wick 50/50 vg pg ,,,20w...it doesn't drain the wick..but every time i take it apart to see if its drained,,i put some juice , and for 3-5 puffs im getting my flavor but after i get the flavor of dry hits

Have you tried using Less Cotton?

It takes some Experimentation to find what works Best in an RBA for a Given Build at a given Ohms and a Given Watts and a given e-Liquid. And it can be Frustrating.

But once you find the Right Combination, an RBA can (in my opinion) work much Better that Pre-Made Coil heads. Sounds like you are Honing in on the Right Combination.

BTW - On a Subtank Mini RBA, I like to build slightly Bigger Diameter Coils. 3.0mm and 3.5mm Diameter. I think they tend to work better with my 20PG:80VG e-Liquids.

I also perfer 28ga wire over 26ga for most build. 28ga has a Fast Ramp Up. And a Faster Ramp Down that 26ga.

Thanks for getting back zorkwan. Seems clear you've found the problem with the rba, but that doesn't explain the issue with the premade coils. Or did I misread that? Please clarify.

Regarding wicking for horizontal coils, also consider using a loosely rolled steel mesh core with very little cotton inside, wrapped in tighter cotton before inserting into the coil. I've found this helps immensely in achieve higher efficiency (more vapour and temperature per Watt of power) without leaving your wick dry.

If you can imagine a loosely packed cotton core that flows juice really well, surrounded by a tightly packed insulating layer touching the coil, this is possibly the best of both worlds. I run 95% VG all day and no longer have to worry about balancing the cotton density to prevent dry hits or weak vapour.

Glad to hear your getting a result anyway!
