This is my second subohm tank, I'm coming from a Melo which doesnt start to create warmish vapor until around 20-25w, so this is weird to me. It's placed on my IPV Mini 2 at 5w and immediately begins kicking off vapor. On my istick 50w, it allows me down to 6.6w, and it takes a couple seconds for the coil to get hot, before producing barely any vapor.

Is this normal for the nano? What is causing the major difference between the istick and the IPV?

The Istick and IPV mini, are fairly similar, it could be something to do with the connection of the mod to the atty, I would make sure that your connection is secure, My kanger sub, normally will put out a good warm vape around 20 watts. I used the IStick 50w As a daily driver and vape my Atlantis Sub tank at 27 watts, Make sure that the connection is good and solid, the IPV may not be reading it correctly.

Connections are fine. I vape my Melo at a minimum of 22ish watts, usually around 30w, and on the istick/IPV it performs the same. I believe the "problem" was what these guys said v v

What is the resistance of the coils? If the mods don't have step down, and few have, you'll be getting a lot more than 5w with a .5 ohm subtank coil, even if you've set the device to 5w.

The IPV Mini V2 at .5ohms and 5watts is actually putting out far more than 5 watts. It cant regulate down that low with a .5ohm coil.

Both the ST and Melo have 0.5ohm coils, and I think you're both right. The IPV says it's outputting 1.7v at 0.5 ohms, but I guess it's really not. That's a bummer, thought I was paying more for a "better" device, but turns out the iStick is more accurate. I probably wouldnt use it much that low anyway, just that the Nano is too warm for my taste.

So when battery is fully charged, it's around 4-4.2v correct? That means it will output a min of around 30-35w on any .5 ohm coil I decide to throw on?
