kanger t3s coil disappointment

I bought a replacement head after a month of using the stock coil. Its still good as I clean after every tank and replace the flavor wicks with cotton.it is a 2.2 ohm and the one I just bought is 1.8. Now I'm getting burnt flavor a lot. Is it the lower ohms that's causing it? My battery is a standard ego with fixed voltage. I'm curious as to what the issue is.

holy crap! that worked, the pulsing idea. im also thinking that not replacing the two flavor wicks with my handy dandy peaches and cream cotton thread maybe having an effect on the burnt taste. maybe not being able to wick fast enough. possibility?

Yeah, pulsing the power keeps the coil from getting too hot too fast.

What is the PG/VG content of your juice?

Your comment about switching the cottom wick is confusing. Which wick do you have on the 1.8 right now?

i have the stock 2 flavor wicks, when i clean my head/coil i usually replace the top wicks that kanger sets on top of the coil with cotton. i havent done that yet with this one. the vg/pg ratio i thing is 30/70, but its 16 mg and i did add 10% more straight vg to it because of how thin the juice is and to bring dow the nic to around 12-14mg. theres no flavor loss and it produces a tad more vapor. i diy my own 0nic flavors 100% vg and have no problems so far, then again , ive only used 2.2 ohm coils untill this one. i am by no means a vapevet and still i am learning stuff daily. ive been doing the cotton flavor wick trick for about a week and a half. hoping i cleared the confusion about that, you think i should go ahead and try it out on this head/coil?

30/70 + 10% VG is very thick juice, so you might be experiencing some wicking problems, which would only exacerbate the problem with the burnt taste. If you were using the same juice in the 2.2 head with the cotton wick mod without issue, then I suggest going ahead and doing the cotton wick mod on this head as well, or at least removing one of the extra flavor wicks. That should definitely help feed the coil fresh juice, which will in turn help with the burnt taste. Heck, it might even fix the problem, and just give you a good vape.

I have noticed that these heads work best with juices around 70/30 PG/VG. I had to add distilled water to one of my heavy VG juices to get it to wick properly. I only added 1 drop of water per 2ml juice, so it doesn't take much. Keep in mind that I use my heads stock. I don't remove any wicks or change anything out.

Let us know if you get any results from switching out the wicks.

I find that I have to take out the 2 wicks and replace them with 1 wick that is slightly larger (but not as large as the 2 wicks combined) than the ones they use. If you don't have an extra silica wick that is slightly larger you can always remove one of the wicks, unravel it and just add a few of the threads until you have the desired amount.
Another issue might be that the e-liquid you're using is just too thick. Any e-liquid that uses a lot of vegetable glycerin is going to be pretty thick. My go-to e-liquid (Vermillion River's Kentucky Premium Blend) I find to be pretty thick so what I do is add a bit of distilled water to it to thin it out a little and then it wicks very easily.
