Hello all. Been lurking here for a while. Finally had a problem I cant find an answer to.

When I have just the base and coil assembly on my innokin VV I get a reading of something around 2.5 (usually 2.6) when I put the tank itself back on the assembly it works fine until I tighten it down. Then the reading jumps up over 3ohms or considerably higher. It works just fine if its not too tight.

Any idea why this is happening and how to fix it?

The coil plug is touching the battery just fine and the coil is tightened down to the base.

You're not supposed to over tighten--the connection between the battery and the assembled tank should not be tight as it may depress the center pin and cause all kinds of problems. If the center pin gets pushed in you may lose the electrical contact altogether.

However, the coil head should be screwed in into the base tightly and the tank body should be screwed into the base tightly--to prevent leaks.

I don't know if that answers your question... :)

Doesn't have to be Sticking out. Two other ways it can be shorting.
Positive wire folded back across grommet touching base above pin
Slack in wire, flexing against base or negative wire if pin grommet is compressed(to tight)

Glad you got it working.

ETA - a 3rd short is overlapping coil, but that is another story.
