Hi

so i have been vaping a few weeks now... i have 3 different kanger tanks... Protank 2, Protank 3 and the aerotank mega. Im having the same problem with each tank.

I put juice in the tank (approx half full), then when i hold the button down on my ZMAX V5 (set at 6.0w) there is a crackling sound... then when i vape, it often kicks bits of the e juice up into my mouth. (not huge ammounts but enough)

The other day i held the button down while i had the mod at an angle and it shot some e juice into my eye, which was VERY painful.

Ive tried stripping the tanks down, cleaning them out and replacing the coils... but it still does this on every tank.

any ideas whats wrong?

Are you using the stock coils or are you replacing the wicks? I would recommend changing the wicks out for organic cotton. The coils last longer and have better flavor. You can use the single coils in the Aerotank, I find they work better than the double coils. Otherwise, I would try to turn down the wattage and/or power and see what happens.

I have no idea, I own a protank 3 - stock replaceable coils 2.0ohm use it at around 4.2 - 4.6v (ego c twist "mod") I never get juice shooting in to my mouth but clouds of vape coming out :) Could you be running it too hot? Have a bad ring between the atmoizer/base so it is constantly flooding it self. I will assume you have the rubber piece that slides over the ato still on there....

I bet your just running hot for that coil. I am no expert but 6.0v sounds like a lot for 1.8ohm. google "ohm to volt chart" if you are like me and have little understanding of that stuff.

I would agree if the OP had said 6v but he did state 6w, which would correspond to about 3.3v on his PV. But the effect does sound like too much "power" getting to the atty. Have you actually measured the output of your PV? It wouldn't be the first time that an APV states one thing but outputs a lot less/more! Good luck.

I have a question for you. How humid and hot is it where you live? high humidity causes excess amounts of condensation in the chimney and underneath where the drip tip connects to the chimney this in turn causes the water which is very difficult to vaporize in comparison the ejuice. That often causes the "spitting" and popping that you are experiencing as a rule i tell my customers that every evening to clean out underneath the drip tip and inside the drip tip to help alleviate the problem. Another problem could be that you are getting to much liquid in the coil heads which can be caused by drawing to hard. try taking longer calmer draws instead of a quick "puff" that should also help a little bit. As for the mega i current have one that i run at 11 watts normally with stock heads and with my own rebuilds i can run up to 20 watts without problems so i would say its not really a problem with too much power. Hope this helps

Kanger single coils have that "flavor" wick that covers the coil.

Kanger dual coils (old style) do not have a flavor wick covering the top coil.

I noticed the Kanger dual coils would occasionally spit hot e-liquid into my mouth. I attribute this to the lack of a flavor wick covering the top coil, which prevents hot e-liquid from splattering into the tip.

The little chart that came with my Evod says for 1.7-1.9 ohms the voltage should be 3.1-3.4..

Nope.. Not my Evod/Protank 2 ones at least.. Took my first one apart last night to clean it, theres one tiny piece of wick in there running through the coil, no 'flavor' wick on top at all..
I occasionally get that 'crackling' sound but alot of times I think I tend to fill it too close to the top of the tube inside the tank. Never had any shoot out at me though.. Id HATE to get that stuff in my eye!
