so last week i received a Kanger Unitank and every time I fill it, It leaks really bad unless I completely empty it and start over. Also after 3 puffs it tastes burnt and if I let it sit it gets better but 3 puffs later burnt again... I got 2 more off of ebay for cheap in an auction before I ran into these issues. Is there a trick to these?

Any help would be appreciated.

As for leaking, where is it leaking from? The bottom around the coil? or somewhere else?

As for the burnt taste... Replace the coil... I realize it's new but trust me, I've had more than my fair share of kanger coils bad right out of the box... The very first protank mini i got almost made me swear off Kanger for good... I had heard nothing but good things about them, but then when I got it it was TERRIBLE... every hit was a dry hit with almost no vapor and running anything more than about 4 watts made it taste burnt beyond description... I just figured they sucked and couldn't figure out how other people could truly enjoy them... This was right out of the brand new sealed box...

A few months later while tasting some various juices at a local shop, one of the flavors they handed me was in a protank mini... I almost handed it back to the guy, but tried it anyway and to my surprise it was great... Very good vapor and great flavor... So I told him about my experience and he gave me a coil to try... Took it home, popped it in and gave it a try... Sure enough it fired like a dream... I slowly cranked it up and ended up settling at 11 watts...

The coil makes all the difference in the world, even if it's brand new... And if it's leaking around the coil, it should help with that too!

Another note - and part of this won't help much, so that part first: The Kanger Unitank is kind of a gimmicky design, solving leaking "problems" that weren't there on the previous Kanger tanks with a new complicated vacuum system and a few too many parts. With that many parts and added complexity, the Unitank pretty much has to have all variables in proper order to perform without issue. I now this because I have one. I also have a cheapo PT2 clone that works flawlessly every time, because it has like 3 parts. LOL. Our Unitank delivers great flavor, a draw much tighter than it should be, and a lot of juice on our clothes and anywhere else the tank happens to be. Yes, I know this won't help you, but I say this to honestly state the flaw in the very design. Too much to go wrong means it's likely something usually will. I've yet to get this tank to perform as well as it should. I've tried just about everything we can think of. Adjusting seals, different juices, etc... Still ends up leaking into the chimney and air passages. If my PT2 clone and genuine Mini Protanks 3s weren't such excellent performers, maybe I'd spend even more time troubleshooting the Unitank... But after searching around on the web a bunch, I've pretty much concluded that it's likely even Kanger is disappointed with this design. The vacuum system works against it, and seems to force leaks at the weakest points in the system, wherever that happens to be depending on which weak point you correct - it will them find another.

Now, all that being said, keep a paper towel nearby, and that tank delivers some wonderful flavor and a friendly little puff of a vape. It won't beat the other anger tanks, but is much better than nothing. In my relatively limited experience, I've spent a lot of time improving on and modding my cheap little tankomizers to deliver satisfying function while I wait to get a dripper and mech mod. You can do a few things to improve the vape, even with that tank. First things first, learn to rebuild the coil heads with cotton. Even if you skip rebuilding the coil itself, if you replace the stock silica with cotton, you will LOVE the difference in the amount of tasty vape you get from the same setup. Rebuilding the coil makes it even better. You will have to fiddle with how the head seals into the Unitank system to minimize leaking, but I'm not sure you can completely solve that leak. CocuZZa00 asks a good question - the higher your VG content, the more likely your Unitank will leak. I would stick with thicker PG% juice when you use that tank.

Luckily, we didn't spend much on these Unitanks, and I would suggest, with full support and respect, that you go ahead and keep the Unitank but buy a different model tank from Kanger or one of the others when you get a chance. Vape on, and good luck! It's a FUN way to quit ciggie, that's for sure. :)
