Well now that Katya explained the dual coil rating system requires upping the wattage to almost dble because you have to consider double single coil ohm ratings. Its my mint/tobacco combo tank best works on iTazte around 8.5 - 9 W. MPT2 is flavorful with its new 2.5 cartridge reading @ A2.8 Sigh of releif, here.
Aspire K1 is sporting a 1.8 rated coil & its tank is filled w/ what used to be my favorite light cigarette non sweet tobacco - Congress.. flavor delivery is as close as I have been in days on VV 1000mAh @ 3.4-3.5 V . It gets hot so I put it down right away to cool it, think it will hit the target with 2.1 ohm rated coil. Wish it had a replaceable pyrex glass tank, guess i just have to be extra careful w/ it.

Hmmm... Aspire BVC comes with a single coil. A 1.8Ω coil shouldn't be getting hot a 3.5v. It's only 6.8 watts.

Yes, Aspire K1 BVC is a single coil, gets hot around the battery collar connection. lol Flavor wise its a sweet little tank. The KangerTech VV 1000mAh battery is rated at 6.8W?

Kanger vv batteries can be adjusted from 3.2V to 4.8V--wattage depends on the resistance of the atomizer and the voltage you choose.

You can only control 2 variables of the equation: Wattage = Voltage Squared divided by Resistance.

Ok, think I got it now how you came up with 6.8W for the battery using the formula! Coool ;) thanks. Honestly my flavor tastes so good on this K1 - I don't care if it gets hot... I just take a break. Looking for higher resistance rated BVC replacement 2.1 is harder to get than 1.8 ohms & these coils cost more than MPT2 huh.... But I just need a few to replace and rebuild with out running out, right?

What voltage are you using them at? I'd go with 3.4v or so--it will take you to 6.5 watts, which is just about right for me... You don't need a higher ohm coil--just reduce your voltage.

If it's still getting hot at that voltage, that means the draw might be too tight--but I'm afraid the airflow is not adjustable on the K1.

Online Conversion - Ohm's Law Calculator

I've never used Aspire BVC coils because I'm a bit concerned about the ceramic mesh they are using--it tends to crumble, which makes me uneasy. Also, those can't be rebuilt, ASAIK; not sure about cleaning--check YouTube, I'm sure there are videos showing how to do that.

Im no longer a Kanger user but I was for a long time....so im going to weigh in.

It never made sense to ME (emphasis on me) to rebuild on a tank like a kanger.
@ 5 on discountvapers.com for a 5 pack I cant imagine building for much cheaper. (please factor in the time used when calculating rebuild cost)

However, far be it from me to look down on someone doing something they enjoy or use as a hobby.

Back to Kanger- I loath the pro tank 3 dual coils. I thought they ran very hot and volatile. It would usually pop a lot before a drag and it was irritating. That being said, I had a love hate relationship with my Pro Tank 2 with 2 ohm coils. I thought that was a very enjoyable vape until I got into RTA's and other rebuildables.

I suggest you get what you like and stick with it until something really tugs at your interest. I tried a kayfun and then it was all down hill for me..... DNA 30 then a Russian... then a fogger....then a Stillare.... then a pontus... another kayfun? how did that get in here ohh wait that's the "lite" version....... oh theres a kayfun 3.1 well I need that..................... it keeps going like this for a while.

On a final note. I suggest depending on the flavor profiles you keep around have at least 3 tanks for different flavors. I suggest keeping a savory/ sweet/ and different flavor tank separation.

WELCOME TO THE TEAM

VAPE ON!!!!!!!!!!

That is it I'm at 3.4V on that KangerTech VV Evod battery lowest volt setting is 3.2... What is with ceramic mesh?

There is some kind of ceramic mesh (Aspire's description) inside the coil head. I'm not sure what it is and why it falls apart, but I don't like it. Again, that's just me--YMMV

Go to 12:50 into the video:

I've mini protank 3, and I like to rebuild the coil, this is just personal taste, for me, nano and micro coil is better than the original, strong flavor and vapor :)
For kanger coil, I like Kanthal 30Awg
For single coil, I like nano coil 1.5ohm, 8watt, organic cotton, no dry hits
for dual coil I like micro coil 1.5ohm, 10 watt, organic cotton, no dry hits

I like long puff, I drilled the air holes to 1.5mm, it's really great for me :D

Anyone rebuild an Aspire K1 be rebuilt to eliminate the mesh wicking material?

I don't think it can be done. Just enjoy it if it works well. Seriously--I just told you about my personal concerns. It doesn't mean that those coils are dangerous in any way.

Why do tanks crackle and pop hot juice @ even 3.4V ?

Pop snap and crackle sounds are good. You juice is being atomized. Some toppers are noisier than other-- nothing to worry about.

Katya, you are not the only one that mentioned that ceramic wick material. Its discussed & shown in a video for rebuilding mini nautilus. It does scare me. Ordered some replacement coil heads and when its time to change one out I will see if I can open it up without damaging the casing. Damn tank does deliver fantastic taste. My iClear 30BDC is delivering good flavor too @10W. Received the airflow valve for MPT2 (which are already delivering good flavor), it didn't come with instructions..lol
Thinking of ordering a PT2, what u think?

I just got my PT2 this morning and yeah its even a little top heavy on my MVP2 (the mini is even heavy on my Evod batts). Threw a fresh 1.8 micro coil in it (32ga/5 wraps) and it blows away my PT2 mini with the same coil.. My clouds are coming out so thick now it looks like I'm smoking still hah.

Monotremata, You left out the most important part; Well how is the taste on your new PT2?? Where did you get it & what you pay for it?

Katya aren't the PT2 & Areotanks the same except for the airflow valves and PT2 is single coil? Oh, almost forgot is the iClear XI glass compatible with iClear 30Bcd?

PT2 has a single coil atty, Aerotanks have dual coils. The updated airflow base will accept both dual and single coils, but you can't use dual coils in a PT2 or vice versa.

Well with my own 1.8 microcoils my juice FINALLY tastes like what its supposed to but man that 18mg throat hit hurts now hah. Can't comment on the stock coils cause I just started rebuilding my heads 2 days ago and will never use a stock Kanger coil again! Its a WORLD of difference, even my PT2 Mini hits like a tasty fruit chimney now. On my MVP2 and Evods I don't see any need for the Aerotank air flow ring.. It even lung hits like a .... just as it is..

I got it from MFS for like $10 + $3 shipping. They're in the clearance section though so I may get another just because I want a purple one too (mines blue).. I usually order everything at Vapor Foundry but their shipping was the flat rate $5.99 and no color choices from them..

Thanks for responding Monotremata,
Hmmm stock coils- I'll learn to build those little buggers for one of those "Tasty Flavor Chimneys". Honestly I'm glad I don't need a throat hit so much for a satisfying smoke like vape, guess I'm lucky just love the taste of tobacco enough so I can do that mouth to lung french exhale ;) & relaaaahx Just ordered 6 Clear T3s off ebay. Can I use the MPT2 replacement coils for the T3s?

Have 2 - mpt2 1- Apsire K1 BVC 1- Purple iClear 30BDC, ;) 1 of my mpt2 is blue Had to get those T3s as I found myself using Ex Blanks to taste Tobacco Flavors I recently received from Caterpillar who I mention b/c they delivered super fast w/ low shipping cost & prices were low in comparison to what I'd paid as a novice w/ cigalikes. (Not complaining mind you because I'm smoke free today & grateful for products like V2 Ecigs) just can't afford much now a days. Sold something on Ebay to finance my little gadget binge. lol Checked that PT2 in Freedom Vapes when I got my cheapo VV IJOY 650mAh that looks like Evod; BTW for $6.+change I love it because it's small & charges w/ my Evod USB on Iphone wall charger.
OCD Gadget Pacman, will probably bid on PT2 in Ebay if I get a chance.... there is a BUY Now - Pink Red one up now ....lol

Focus -> Point - I want to make my own coils too & have been reading around the forum will post my coil rebuilding questions here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...r-coil-building-care-personal-experience.html

I have 11 miniprotanks, but I don't use the top tank part, just the bases, and I use protank top on them.
On the coil head I use 2 silicone caps (1 inverted) instead of 1, to seal the space.
So I get the mechanical, electrical, and airflow advantages of the eGo base of the miniprotank, as well as the capacity of the protank.

Why the tease edyle? Will you share pics to illustrate your custom build. Would really like to try to duplicate your custom PT2 with at least 1 of my MPT2. Maybe you can post a little Tutorial Video here? Where do you get your O rings and caps? Thanks :D
