Ive had an ongoing issue with the kangertech protank 2 now for several weeks. First off, this issue has nothing to do with the device itself. I screwed in a very old, eGo-T Joyetech and it vapes perfectly fine. So the issue here is undoubtedly the protank or coil. One day, I re-filled the tank and screwed it back on. When I press the button down, I can no longer hear the volts activating as I could before. After about 2-3 seconds I can hear a slight noise and a bit of the juice shoots out. If I take a hard puff, the juice comes straight through the coil into my mouth. Again, if I just hold it in front of me and activate it, it doesn't make any noise, as if its not working. I'm a newbie to this thing so I haven't the slightest clue what the hell is wrong. I went and bought a brand new protank 2 and a set of 5 new coils. Input the brand new setup and the exact same thing is happening. One side note, when I bought it, the guy showed me how sometimes you have to do something to the coil to make sure its catching but I cant remember what it was. I did my best to explain my problem. Hopefully it makes sense to someone??? Thanks.

It sounds like the center post may not be making contact on your battery.

Try backing out the pin on the coil a tiny bit, then when you put it back on the battery tighten it just to where you start to feel resistance, give it a 1/4 to 1/2 a turn more. You want snug not tight between the tank and the battery.

The other thing to try is to use a small screwdriver ot pin and try to raise the center post on your battery connection ever so slightly.

Always check that the coil is screwed in all of the way whenever you refill.
A lot of times with protanks the coil unscrews itself some when you take it apart to refill.
Kanger even warns about it on their site.

"The atomizer head of the Protank can unfasten when unscrewing the tube or base. Always secure the atomizer head before reinstalling the base of the Protank."

It sounds like you're badly flooded. I use the Protank 2, and that will happen on a refill if the coil head gets a little loose from the base when you remove and then replace it. Your battery post and drip well will be flooded too. You will probably need to dismantle it and clean/dry the battery post and coil deck with a q-tip, blow out the tubes, crank the head back in, and you should be good to go at that point.

I have a protank2, too, and have experienced similar circumstances.

Two 'house-keeping' chores I've found make a difference:
(1) Make a habit of removing the mouth piece (drip tip) and cleaning residual eliquids that may accumulate between the drip tip and the drip tip connection ring. 3Xdaily
(2) Use a papertowel to clean/remove e-liquid leaking into the connection of the protank2's base and the battery.

Also, I use a variable voltage "spinner" battery. When I first vape, I make sure to have it set to the lowest voltage. I increase the volt setting with each consecutive vape. This priming of the tank seems to make the coils more effective and produces a more consistent and fuller vape.

Good luck!!

What device are you using for power? What resistance coil are you using in the protank 2? What's the resistance of your joyetech tank/carto/atomizer?

Sorry, but I don't know... The power device isn't labeled. Its about 4 inches long, 1/2 inch thick and was one of the most expensive ones they had in the shop. That part isn't the problem. Don't know the resistance either. Thanks for the attempt, but like I said Im a newbie to this stuff.

This may be the problem... Makes sense, because the first time all the liquid went into my mouth I could see some down inside the power device. I'll give it a shot. Thx.

Gda, we can't help you without knowing exactly what kind of battery you're using and what is the resistance of your coils. Having said that, a few things come to mind. If the coil of your ProTank doesn't fire at all, it means that it's not making proper electrical contact with your battery. However, if, as you describe, first it makes no contact and then it spits out hot juice, something else is going on.

Battery type and voltage, as well as resistance of your atomizer, are critical information. Without it, we're just all speculating.
