I am trying not to ask repeat questions on here and I did a Google search to see if anyone had the same issue. This may be completely normal I really have no clue. Anyways everytime I put my subox mini on the charger it gets warm to hot and its starting to worry me. Its only about 2 weeks old. I have read stories about batteries exploding and what not but its mostly in unregulated mods from what I understand. Im just worried my batteries might be messing up and I dont want it to happen while I am holding it. I do use it while its charging the manual says that its okay to do. Im sorry if this doesnt make sense I am all over the place when I post on these things.

All (most?) mods get a little warm. It's disconcerting, I'll agree.

I turn off any charging of the mod (in-built battery types) temporarily, rather than use it 'passthrough'.

I don't mind saying that even if it's silly, but I figure if something bad was to happen, it'll be while it's charging. That could be superstition on my part.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will have an opinion. :)

Can someone explain when and why batteries need to be re wrapped? I have seen people talking about this but I dont understand why they re wrap and not just buy new batteries?

Battery needs to be rewrapped when its current wrapping is torn, warped, cut open, etc etc..with proper usage I don't think you have to worry about it as you'll be replacing them when its time anyway.

As other users said, I prefer to charge my batteries via a separate charger, just 10-15 bucks for an extra peace of mind.

That being said with 18650 batteries, go with the big 3: LG, Samsung, Sony.

I prefer the LG HG2s, 20A 3000mah, just the right balance for power and battery life (for my usage, I don't go above 75W...yet).

Sony was really popular and thus has been counterfeit'd alot

Here's a nice summary of 18650 reviews by fellow member Mooch on vaping360.com, its helped me a ton.
