Lots of patience, zooming in and out, using the pencil and the brush... focus only on one part of the picture at a time and you will draw miracles...
You are not lying about that.... lot's of patience (and time). I'll probably finish mine up tonight, been working on and off since the contest started, lol. You guys with artwork at the ready were lucky. :) Now I better appreciate all the time and effort that's involved... nice stuff posted here.

I've thought about this quite a bit lately, so it crossed my mind to make this!

aahhh, and than you for the tips!
Anthony posted a video near the beginning of this thread that shows you, vastly speeded up, how to make an MS Paint (an extremely limited program with limited tools) picture that rivals a photograph. I am not that good of an artist -- as you can tell from mine, at best, I am a cartoonist. But good luck to everyone who tries.

Would love to be able to do photos in that much detail.

I know this isn't directly related to this particular contest, but maybe I can help you with that. Thirty five years ago (before I got disabled and forceably retired), when I was still a technical writer, I was also the publications department's official photographer (being paid to take photographs allows you to say you were a "professional photographer" :)). In any case, what kind of camera do you use? You are also a regular on another thread that I also am on daily and you have seen my photos. I do not collect tree pictures from the web; all those are from my personal archives. Perhaps, if you choose to discuss photography further, we can move this to PM. Also, maybe I can give you a few Photoshop hints to make your photos better. ;)

Also, this is for everyone here: Did you know that you can edit a .jpg photo in MS Paint?

Oh wow! Just tried this and fabulous. Now I know how people change photos to look different. I am trying to make a lion vaping for my third entry. Thanks FUZ :w00t:

You're welcome, of course, but know that I am not the supplier for this thread, so you better clear that next entry with Eric. I can, however, step you through the process of taking photos and changing them in MS Paint (e.g., photo of plump person with zits made to look thin with perfect complexion - or my avatar at left, which includes elements from three different photographs and the lightning bolt, vapor, and mod bottle/tube added in Paint). PM me if you need help with your lion.

Alright, so I want to change things up from the number guessing games to something a bit more creative.

So let's have a MS Paint (or whatever the Mac/Linux equivalent is) contest. Draw anything you want. Humorous, satirical, political, e-cig related, doesn't matter. It can be a drawing of anything.

The best drawing wins. If you're bad at drawing, don't worry. Feel free to exchange artistic skill with wit and you stand just as high a chance of winning.

Thanksgiving/Holiday themes welcome.

We're developing a new website currently, and we'll be sure to post all submissions in a blog post. The winner will also win a permanent discount code specifically for them and their account on the new website. We'll even make a universal coupon code, and the winner can decide the name :)

The new website is expected to drop within the next 2-3 weeks.

--

Prize:

The SUBOX Nano Starter Kit is the Black Edition. It comes with the NANO SUBOX, a SUBTANK Nano, a replacement coil, a replacement Subtank tank cylinder, and a charging cable. This kit is pretty legit. The winner will also receive a free 30ml of any liquid of their choosing from our website. The winner will also receive an exclusive coupon code, and have the opportunity to name the ECF coupon code for our new website (i.e. currently the 5% ECF coupon code is VSFIVE, the winner can choose the replacement term for VSFIVE, or keep it, it's their call.)

--

Rules:

1. Use MS Paint or an equivalent for alternative OS's. No Photoshop, GIMP, etc. Basic Paint-like programs only. We want to keep this as raw as possible.
2. Maximum of 3 submissions.
3. Keep it at least somewhat clean.
4. Spread the word about the contest. I want to see at least 100 submissions. This is a beautiful starter kit at a fairly high price point.
5. Submissions must contain original content.

Contest ends December 12, 2015 at 11:59 PM CST.

I wish I had the software to enter :( But I will be sure to spread the word about the contest :)

@Fuzzy Thunderbear so tell me how to do with an iPad?? No computer here hun! :)
Sorry, I don't know nuthin' 'bout EyePads. :) But... does it use a Windoze operating system? If so, then wherever it keeps Programs (drop down) then Accessories (drop down) you should see a program called Paint. Poke that and the program will load. You might want to drag and drop that to the main "desktop" area, which will create a shortcut so you can access it directly without having to jump through the hoops. That's how it would be on a desktop computer and I am guessing your iPad shouldn't be much different. But then what do us dinosaurs know...

No windows on an iPad. This is an Apple product. Steve Jobs would probably roll over in his grave if there was anything Microsoft on/in an apple product! Lol
Funny... I have a really old Mac that runs some Windoze software. Do you know what the Apple equivalent of Paint is? And is it resident on your iPad? If so, maybe we can take this out of the main thread and I will try to help you draw something.

EDIT: I just remembered... my Mac had a program called DRAW. Do you have that?
