Hello,

I installed one of the pre-coiled RBA coils on my subtank mini and it's 0.5 ohms. All good, however, I cant get it past 15 watts +- without too hot vape or probably burnt taste but mainly its hot. So, my main question is ... Single coil at 0.5 ohm using the rba section is around 15 watts at maximum but if i install and make them dual coil then it will take higher the watts as they will be 2 (dual) coils .. is that right or i am wrong and it should normally handle more watts with the single pre-coiled coil that came with the RBA kit ?
And if that's correct then why I see people running it at around 20 to 30 watts with these OCC coils when they are single coils too .. what would be the difference ?

Thanks for trying to help me out but I couldn't find anything regarding my question on this particular page as you mentioned on the topic.

So if you dont mind lets get back to my straight question ... single coil on the rba deck at 0.5 ohm is enough to be powered by 10-15 watts and thats why its getting harsh and too hot above that than a dual coil correct ? ... however, my main question is then why the single original OCC coil at 0.5 can be powered up to 30 watts as its rated ?

You could try pushing the coil closer to the deck... That might help cool it off a bit. Im running a .9 single coil on my Subtank Mini RBA at 23 watts, and it isn't hot....just barely warm. I run the heads at around 25 watts, and the vape is still pretty cool.

If you run dual coils it will split your resistance (im sure someone will correct me if Im wrong about this). So dual .5 coils would be around .25 ohm resistance on the deck. If you could safely run them, then yes, you could increase the wattage significantly.

I managed to rebuild the rba deck once again with 0.5 ohm spaced coil and enough japanese cotton but not blocking entirely the juice channels (the cotton is not wrapped/thickset a lot, so its somewhat touching the base gently lol .. i believe thats enough). It's not a lot of cotton but it seems enough as it should be and now I get good amount of vapour and I can push it up to 20-21 watts without being too hot for me - its actually somewhat cooler.

Question:
So, I am curious because the first time I setted it ... it was possible to vape at maximum around 15 watts before its getting too hot for me, probably it was caused of too much cotton or what may caused this actually ? I am curious so I can avoid it the next time .. any idea ?

try rip's pancake style builds, but dont expect higher than 15-18.

rba cant wick as easy as ready coils, design is different, imo.

so thats why rba single coils are normal to be vaped at lower wattage such as less than 20 watts at 0.5 ohm correct?
