Wow how did I miss this thread?? Aaeli checking in! I'm transferring to WSU next year so *shocker*!
As far as Mercy in KC...best children's hospital, hands down. My son had a meningitis type illness two years ago. He was in ICU in Wichita for two weeks with worsening brain swelling. When he became unresponsive, he was given an emergency brain shunt with little improvement and had not regained conciousness. Needless to say, I was terrified. When the only peds neurologist here got finished scratching his head, another pediatrician told me to demand a transfer to Mercy. I did, and he was airlifted within a few hours. I drove like crazy to get to KC. When I got there and in my son's room in ICU he said, "hi Mom". I get choked up just thinking about it. The team on the helicopter and the immediate care he was given by SPECIALISTS made a dramatic turn around in only a few hours. I can honestly say that the professionals at Mercy saved my son's life.
Anne, don't ever think you're not valued. Our family will NEVER forget the gift Mercy gave us.
