Is there any alternative? Like copper wire? Or something cheap you could pick up at Walmart or Lowes? This is temporary, just until my kanthal comes in

You specifically need resistance wire, I don't believe either of the stores you mentioned would have them. You could if desperate tear apart an old hair dryer, should be some kanthal in there but I'd have to be pretty desperate to do that.
Note: Usually some ribbon in a toaster too.

Not sure, but I don't think so.. It's high temp wire specifically made to handle the temperature.. similar to a electric heater..
So sorry there are not other options. I hope you get it in real quick. And lots of it. 
If you didnt throw away your old coils, you could open them up, rip out the wires and use those.
I've done that; take about 2 or 3 used coils, twist wires together to make them longer, and use that to wrap a new coil

Well, it's been a few days and your Kanthal probably came in already, but just in case ...
Nichrome. I believe some vape shops sell it, but you can also get it from model airplane hobby shops though you might have a hard time figuring out the gauge.
