Real quick, I'm planning on ordering some more spools of kanthal and I just wanted to see which brands people prefer and why.

I have a spool of 28g kanthal A-1 annealed from TemCo, but lately I've been using more 24g wire for sub ohm applications. I don't have a spool and I've been buying about 4ft of wire for a buck at B&Ms. I'm aware that wire is a complete money making scheme at B&Ms given that I could buy 100ft for at most $11 depending on the brand.

I do have one question though, I've used the Lightning Vapes wire before and I've also used TemCo, ones annealed and the other isn't. Which do you prefer, and why? The cost comparison between Lightning Vapes and TemCo is almost half for the same amount of wire. Lightning Vapes 24g is $6.75 vs. TemCo 24g annealed for $10.40 both are 100ft spools. Is TemCo really that much better because it's annealed where it would be worth it to pay more?

The way I see it, wire is wire but maybe I'm wrong.

Aint that the truth FB. Somedays temco is cheaper and some days it seems they rise the price. They obviously know vapers are buying up their wires. I never used lightning vapes but that was because the last time i looked, prob 6 months ago. It was more expensive than temco.. so im wondering if it is cheaper i might give it a whirl. But the plus for temco is every order on their site, no matter the quantity is free shipping. So that probably equals it out to lightning vapes, right?

My love- Kawa Reo LP w/ TRA SL door & LokiLab Odin.. Mmm Mmm

I just ordered from temco direct and got a spool of 24 & 26 both 100ft for $18 and some change. I'm glad someone said they just order direct, I honestly never even thought of doing that. I usually just shop ebay or Amazon.

I like using 28 also, I've taken a like to 24g and I figured I'd order 26 and give it a try. Whenever I build a 28g coil and tighten down the posts on the cyclone, I usually cut the wire and have to build another coil. Once the 26 comes in I'll start using 26g on the cyclone.

I use 27 and 29 and have only bought from Temco directly.

Its about time to order again, and I am thinking I will get 28. Little faster heat up time than 27 and little less resistance then 29.

Just thinking out loud...

Thanks
Geo

Up until a couple months ago, I used 26g exclusively. Heat up time with 28g was a tad too quick for me. I switched to 27g, which is a nice compromise. I like to vape dual coils at ~.45 ohms. My usual build is 6 wraps of 27g on a 5/64 bit.
